Baseball Nut 24 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Top 10 looks about right for pre-season. Should be another fun year in the 9th region. A little surprised Luke Moeves from NCC didn't make the top 10 players but who do you take out.

Just Jim Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Team rankings look more accurate than the one from the cats pause. Player rankings I'd put Moeves in and take Greene out.

Sterling Hamilton - Lloyd Mentioned Jaiden in the Cats Pause thread...potential is definitely there for him to be considered a top 10 player this year. One of the better athletes in the region and has some skill to go with his size. Was considered one of the best players in the region for his class as a freshman but has never had the type of role that he will have this year due to playing behind seniors as a sophomore and junior. Agree that Luke Moeves needs to be in there somewhere. Would probably replace Hamilton or Greene with him.

Moeves can be a big scorer this year, but football will delay his performance. I think NCC will be much deeper than last year, but obviously have no on like Weyer. Could be interesting team, however.
Bird Bath Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 I have no problem with teams 1-6; however can somebody please clue me in on who returns for teams 7-10? I know summer ball is just that, but HHS returns Posey, Finfrock and LaFrange with plenty of varsity starts and throw in a healthy Greene and Traylor return from Florida and Noe going basketball only and they are going to surprise some folks. IMO they are much stronger than clubs 7-10. Time will tell.
Fire Inside Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Who are some of the break out players in the 9th? I think Wurtz will have a good season for NCC. He has had two good summers and will get some time this year with Ben graduating.

CosmicCharlie Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Aiden Ruthsatz. without a doubt. top ten.
Clyde Posted October 17, 2016 Author Posted October 17, 2016 What position does he play? What are his strengths? I'd guess him to be in the 6'7 range. Backed up Ben Weyer last year. Seems to have a nice shot from 15 feet in. Long.

On top of that, very polite kid, 100% the kind of kid you just want to root for. I wish him all of the success in the world this season. I'll be interested to see if he has gotten thicker, if so, he will be a great inside / outside threat, if not, he will still be a really nice face-up big in the 9th, and a tough match-up for a lot of kids.

Depends on your definition of "break out players" but I think the following players will play a key role in the success of their teams: Boone- Noah Schidler, Ethan Haynes Cooper- Brayden Runion, Blaine Walters Conner- Jake Surprenant Dixie- Tyler Schreck Holmes- LJ Miller Newport- MeKell Burries, Anthony Harmon St Henry- Elliot Berling, Stephen Maley Beechwood- Ben Toebbe (Surprised he hasn't gotten more love) Ryle- Aaron O'Hara Holy Cross- Nolan Schrand

Just Jim Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Noah Schidler is now enrolled at Cooper and is a Jag. Wow. That's a big pickup for Cooper (and a big loss for Boone). He's a nice player. Cooper will be deep. No doubt C. McNeil needs to be on the list of "break out" players also.
