Luke Cage on Netflix

Featured Replies

Anyone watching? I'm about 3 episodes in. So-so so far. Very comparable to Jessica Jones in my "like" for it, wanted to like JJ but just could never really say that I did. Getting the same feeling here so far.

Loved Daredevil, loved Jessica Jones. Will start this as soon as I finish up the other show I've been watching.

The soundtrack alone would be enough to get me to watch this show.

I've watched one episode and found it interesting. I want to watch it but have to catch up on the Flash, season 2 was just released on Netflix today.

So I was a comic book kid through a good number of my formative years, but I've been pretty burnt out on the superhero storyline for the last year or more just because of over-saturation in movies and television.

As a result, I've not even peeked at Daredevil, Jessica Jones or this show. Is there anything particularly different about any of the three that should make me want to watch them?

I haven't checked out Jessica Jones but I really enjoyed Daredevil.

I'm not a comic book expert but my sense is these shows are a little grittier and "realistic" than their blockbuster counterparts. They aren't drowned in CGI or over-saturated with gargantuan battles or gaudy costumes, so it's the plot/story/acting that propels them forward instead.

DD I liked. JJ not so much. I think you have to like in some way the protagonist, and I just could not find my way into liking JJ. Maybe it's the way she was portrayed by the actress, maybe it was the writing, I'm not sure, but to me JJ was just not a likeable character. LC seems to be kind of following down the same path as JJ did for me, though I may end up liking the LC character better and if so will probably like the show more. But they are all more "raw" and character driven as Habib said.

I think these Netflix series are the best thing Marvel has going right now. Better than the movies... MUCH better than some of the movies.

I heard #LukeCage broke the internet. :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Something is wrong with the Netflix app on my Fire TV. So i don't know if it broke the Internet, but it did just enough to make sure I couldn't start watching it last night...

I hadn't seen the outrage. Maybe I follow the wrong people. Universal praise in my feed.

Go to twitter and put #LukeCage in your search. Lot of people mad that the cast isn't diverse.

That's high on the list of most foolish nonsense I've ever heard.
