I know all of this, but Norman developed the blueprint. Get in his head and he self destructs. It's almost as if he gets more consumed with the match-up than he does with the game. Fortunate he didn't get suspended last night.

That said, I think he gets it figured out. OBJ seems like a really good dude with his heart in the right place. His head just goes into the wrong place when he's competing. He is too good to need that level of motivation.

If Odell would go at the individual matchups the way Chad Johnson/Ochocinco used to do it where he talked trash, but actually used it to get in the defenders head instead of the other way around. Chad could smile and laugh everything off because he knew he was better than just about every db he went up against. Odell is WAY more talented than Chad was, Chad just worked really hard at his craft. Odell doesn't have to lose that passion and swagger he plays with he just needs to control it better.

I think it's a maturity thing. No chance I'd take the monumental king of distractions (T.O.) over OBJ. OBJ has issues with temper and seems to have some problem with proving he's got that toughness. TO was a distraction in the locker room, at the club, at his house, you name it. By all reports, OBJ seems like a good teammate.

Owens was a headcase but the guy was a gamer. OBJ's head doesn't allow him to stay in games while Owens had a broken leg and went 9-122 in a Super Bowl he wasn't even supposed to play. We'll see how it plays out but at this point being good and snagging balls one handed haven't amounted to one playoff birth.

As a veteran teammate I would try to have the conversation with him to let him know how important he is to the team and why we need him to put the team in front of himself. How's that?

I said suspended earlier, but meant ejected in line with the new rule. The refs avoided throwing the second unsportsmanlike flag, but he easily could've received one for his antics.

I think the fact that the Giants haven't made the playoffs has a lot more to do with the fact that their defense couldn't stop a cold the past few years. Their offense has been playoff caliber, their defense is Big XII caliber. I don't think it is fair to put that on OBJ.

You can make this about the Giants as a whole if you like. I get that. But OBJ is a significant factor for them if they even plan to sniff the playoffs. To be frank, the rest of their receiving corps is rather pedestrian.

The Giants top 3 recievers are all on pace for over 1,000 yards. Cruz is their 3rd best WR and he's pretty good. The WRs aren't the problem on the Giants team right now.
