They look to have a very good win tonight over Stanford. If I am one of these top football Schools, he would be one of the first guys I call. I wonder if USA regrets not hiring him now.
October 1, 20169 yr I agree with this, Peterson is very good as it coach. After last night, it's hard IMO for the Huskies to not be considered as a legitimate contender to make the playoff. I was on the fence with them. After last night, not at all.

October 1, 20169 yr I think he stays at Washington for a long time. He had big name school after big name school try to get him from Boise just about every year and he wouldn't leave. He just loves the Pacific Northwest.

His name did come up and he took over a power school. He looks to have things going in the right direction, with his first two seasons going 15-12.

Why would he have went to the University of South Alabama to begin with?

That was the reason why he didn't want to leave Boise State. I am not sure on Washington. He did interview for the USC job before he went to Washington. So it may be just a western area thing.

When Steve Starkison (sp) got the job he wanted it and interviewed for it. However when he didn't get it, he then took the Washington jobviously since that then because open with USC hiring their Coach.

While a coach can have much success there, the idea of going to a tradition rich football school gets coaches to leave. Especially since its easier to get top recruits at those Schools. Right now he wins because he can really Coach players up. So yes I am surprised when jobs like LSU, Texas, etc have opened that his name doesn't get mentioned. Imo he is one of the top coaches in the country. He won big at Boise St even though you had people like Ohio States president putting them down. He took over a Washington program and now in his third year he has them in playoff contention. It will be interesting when USC opens up again if he still would want it, or if he will stay since USC turned him down last time and now he has Washington up.
