Jumper_Dad
[video=youtube;q-RBA0xoaWU] Watched it this weekend...good time at the movies. Decent story line, good pace of movie, interesting characters played by some really good actors. Story line is similar but not the same as the original, character names have changed but are still very similar to the original. I recommend it to anyone that likes this Genre of movie. Sportsaholic Mamaw
I never like most sequel type movies. Loved the original, saw it at the Drive In. I really miss the 60's big screen, big scenery, filmed on locations instead of computer generated, type of films. After all, the original had Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and James Colburn. I know, I'm ancient. But I might give the new one a shot. Jumper_Dad
This isn't a sequel, just a remake based loosely on the original movie.

The one I saw was the original to me. Seven Samurai, I have not seen but might try to find it.

The Professor
A movie from the past that I like that has a similar theme to this new movie (and the old one) is Sam Peckinpah's "The Wild Bunch", released in 1969.

Peckinpah at his greatest. Classic that should never be remade.

MentschTrachtGottLacht
I typically don't like Westerns, but I'm seeing this on Saturday and am really looking forward to it. The cast they have assembled is fantastic.
