Southwestern has one of the best teams that I can recall them having, but the Corbin Redhounds are on a roll. These two have a common opponent in Danville. The Admirals beat the Warriors 35-34 at home. However the Redhounds went into Danville and left with a 28-7 win. Can Southwestern pull off what would appear to be an upset?

Southwestern has a very nice team, one that may be capable of a super deep playoff run, but nothing about Southwestern really jumps off the page at me when I have watched them. They have nice size, nice skill, nice balance, and some guys who can make plays... but there is not a single thing about the Warriors that I would look at and say "Man... that's going to pose a real problem for anyone they play"

 

Corbin, OTOH, has some of that ability. The Sizemore kid is kind of like the SEKY Tim Tebow. He is big and strong and can grind out 5 yards almost any time he wants it. They also mix in some quick backs and some good receiving threats and have the ability to control the clock and grind drives. Corbin's not going to hurt you going 5 wide and using an Air Raid attack and they aren't going to pop 70 yard sprints on a quick pitch, but they are very good at those 10 play 65 yard drive capped off by a two yard run on 3rd and Goal.

I'd have to say Corbin 27-20.

I love what Corbin is doing, and they should win, but this is a classic trap game. After the big win at Danville, and Mayfield on the horizon, will the Redhounds be mentally prepared this week for Southwestern?

I'm not feeling very confident about this game and expect the Hounds to experience their first defeat of the season tonight. I believe that Southwestern's size and strength up front, along with a special teams TD from the Warriors will get the W for the home team.

I'd be shocked if the Redhounds don't win this one.
