If they lose to NMS I would can him immediately if I was the Athletic Director, but that's just what I would do. Hard to know what Barnhart would do should that situation arise. If I had to guess, he'd keep Stoops until the end of the season.

Firing a coach mid season is more harmful than that. Who maintains contact with the recruits? You can't let another bad season turn into 3 by loosing any decent recruits you might be after. If so you end up with a Joker situation.

What UK needs in this game is something like a 35-0 or 42-7 win. The type of game where the offense & defense both shine.

 

The only hope at salvaging the season is to go into the Off Week with a 3-3 record. That can be done with wins over NMSU, South Carolina, & Vandy.

I think with what I've seen so far, Wildcats are going to loose some recruits regardless.
