Ohio police department shares photos of a heroin overdose

no way we can criticize the police dept . How you get your message out there doesn't matter as long as it gets people talking about the issue -- right ? That's the vibe I got from tons of CK apologist.

Dar-Win-Ism.... quit interrupting it and let the process play out.

I struggle with this. The former paramedic side of me says I need to do whatever is in my power to save a life. The rational side of me says we are interfering with the natural selection process.

Our local County Attorney recently said something similar to a repeat drug offender in court. He told them he was getting phone call after phone call from members of the community asking him why he was interfering with the natural selection process. He said the callers were tired of spending money on repeat offenders who never seek help. He said while he understood where they were coming from, he wasn't there yet. Lucky for them he isn't.

I deal with these type of people everyday. It's sad, sad, sad.

It's always the innocent children that are traumatized in these situations.

It also irritates me to no end that these idiots can do a few simple things and CPS will recommend that their children be returned to them. A few weeks to a couple of months later, same people, same situation, same children traumatized.

I could go on forever. The people that will be horrified by these pictures aren't the ones that need to be.

I also deal with these people daily. You are 100% correct.

My first thought after seeing that, is that the kid would be better off if the officers just take him into their cruiser and leave the parents to their own demise. Survival of the fittest, natural selection, take your pick.

I re-read this thread. No one criticized the police department for releasing the picture.

The family did. Said it humiliated the family.

The city of East Liverpool humiliated my family and humiliated that little boy,” Pasek’s sister, who asked not to be identified, told NBC News.

“They could have blurred his face and they didn’t. And now they’re taking him away from my sister. I’m not condoning what Rhonda done, but what they did to her and what they’re doing to her grandson is too much,” she said.

I wonder what the little boy was thinking while sitting there with mamaw all drugged out of her mind and passed out. Prior to the police being there.

So showing the picture of their child was humiliating but being found in the midst of a heroin overdose was not?! Someone tell the sister to shut the hell up. That child most certainly should be taken from these people and it looks like giving him to a family member is not an option if they can't see the real issue with that photo.

Agreed.

I would never give him to anyone in that family. Send him to a couple who wants a kid but cant have them that can give the kid love and support and good environment.
