It's so hard to take it to heat though. Kind of just little annoying gnats, rather than the hornets they think they are. :lol2:

September 2, 201610 yr Nothing like have college athletics Catsplained to you by a fan base that only knows good football by watching visiting teams. No one is crowning UofL because of this game, but it was nice to see them take care of business against an overmatched opponent in a way they didn't against teams like Samford last year. And I don't see the benefit of doing this, but the Cat fans seem all about it, so let's break this down. UK was up just 20-3 on Charlotte at halftime this year. The starters continued to play and they built to 58-10. Louisville scored 56 in the first half and never let them so much as pick up a first down all night. It was a complete dismantling that was accomplished in just one quarter of football.

September 2, 201610 yr I'll say this: I was hoping for more from the running backs but they were rarely utilized in the first half. Some dude I'd never heard of named Malik Williams was the second leading rusher and he had all his touches while the second and third teams were in. Jackson is an electric player, but running him headfirst at the endzone on that 1-yd play for a touchdown was darned risky. We need the plays to better protect him.
September 2, 201610 yr Another important stat: THU night game as a prohibitive favorite and it was sold out. Would have been easy to skip this game and watch on TV but they filled the place. Good statement / support for the program.
September 2, 201610 yr This also marks the tenth consecutive year that the home opener has been filled with listening to the people around me make completely insane statements about UofL in particular and college football in general. I've noticed that there is a marked difference between the Yum Center crowd, which is generally a smart one that knows a lot a basketball, and the PJCS crowd, which seems to be a bunch of dudes who may have played a little in high school and are absolutely convinced that they have that one thing that would put UofL over the top. They almost never do.

We definitely need to call more run plays to the RB's. I'm with you, I wanted to see more of that. On the flip side, if how they called the game last night helps prepare Jackson for the bigger games faster, I'm all for it.
