This score doesnt suprise me. Boyd Co. has a new coach and SC is a very hot team right now. Belfry looks like the 2nd best team in the district right now if you ask me. Good job Cards on the win and Good luck to Boyd Co. next week.

I truely believe that this SC team, if it can stay healthy is a better overall team than is Belfry. Belfry had a good win against NCC but lost to an Ashland team that was beat soundly the week before by Raceland. This early in the season it is hard to tell who the favorites are in each district but at this point in the season i believe SC is clicking better than is Belfry. But talk is cheap and this game will be settled on the field where it should be. Regardless both teams are solid teams and will represent this area well come playoff time.

What you say about Ashland is a little unfounded. JC Alumni I am sure you know that teams have bad weeks and adjustments have to be made. Ashland made those adjustment, look at the qb change they made, that made them a total different team. Belfry gave them all they wanted, one team had to win, so congrats to the tomcats, but if your going to tell me that Sheldon Clark is better then Belfry then I dont think your realizing Belfry stopped a great RB is Vicars and will IMO stop Dials, they did last year and will this year. belfry is #1 in the District and will remain in that spot until someone knocks them off.

I do agree in that teams have good and bad weeks, but IMO it is way too early in the season to start picking district favorites, as teams make big strides in their progress of improvement at this point of the season.

Once again, Boyd has no defensive scheme.

 

It will be like the last few years, we have the athletes, but no placement on defense. Just dont understand it really. Plus, Boyd didnt do it too bad this game, but really getting sick of the 3 man fronts. Coach Evans should definetly get some time to build his way up as a Head Coach, but he was Defensive Coordinator for the fast few years and should have learned from getting burned on his schemes.

 

Good luck to Coach Evans and Lions, hopefully we can get things turned around.

Pass defense????? Did Sheldon CLark pass the ball????? (JUst Kiddin) witnessed it myself. Boyd had pretty good run defense for the most part, but pass defense was horrible. Definitely see a need for change in some of those positions. 3 man front is not a strong point for BC.....has it ever been???
