LMPD Releases Video of Officer Involved Shooting

Featured Replies

Happened early this morning, LMPD has already released the video.

Body cams from the three officers that initially responded.

Suspect was carrying a machete type blade and another blade of some sort. Charged the officers and two of them opened fire.

Without watching an hour of it, when does the shooting occur?

The very beginning.

It's about 20 minutes of three different vantage points. It happens within the first two minutes.

I didn't watch the video but this one sounds pretty straightforward. Cops were surely justified. Machetes are definitely deadly weapons.

Seems like a good shoot.

You can't advance on officers with weapons in your hands.

Very straightforward. They yelled at him to drop it, he didn't and approached them.

Cincinnati released their video tonight of the shooting this weekend. Kind of same circumstance, guy with a knife charges officer before he even gets out of car.

I'm glad more departments are learning from others to get out in front of these things by releasing video before the media has a chance to form the publics opinions for them.

Agreed. The longer it takes the video to come out, the more controversy will be stirred up. LMPD did the right thing here.

I think the Cincy BLM group and the NAACP chapter owe the city and it's officer an apology for how they reacted to the shooting there yesterday. It's been my same issue since the start. You can't act like all shootings are unjustified if you want your group to remain credible.

What happened with blm and naacp? I didn't see anything on our news.

Are you confusing the Coalition for the Homeless for the NAACP? I did not see the NAACP mentioned in this article (maybe I read the wrong article).
