Manual Stadium and Jefferson County schools to get my $6 friday night.

Won't the money go to St.X? I still plan to be there.

Whom should I root for? Any suggestions? reasons?

Its a free country... The games are not free though....(unless you have a roof top seat, remember the 70's...) Pay for your ticket, sit anywhere you would like and cheer for whom ever you wish...

 

I would suspect that the gate is split between both schools. St. X will pay the rent... for six more regular season games.

Who you kidding? You'll pull for X because you want them to be undefeated when you play them and you also want to maintain the Louisville superiority over Lexington teams. It will be tough though, rooting for a team with those big X's on their helmet. Enjoy the cognitive dissonance!

LexCath pulled a huge surprise upset in 2003 over St X. There are too many unknowns on both teams to predict how it will go tonight.

Yup, the special teams game is crucial. Lex Cath has lots of speed. The o line is new for Lex Cath so we will find out early how they do but its not like X has a big advantage. They have 3 good players as I see it. I will be going. It should be close and Lex Cath pulls it out with Caldwell, Shane, Revere. I just see Cath has more overall talent then X this year. How big/weight is X's o line and d line? Lex Cath 14 St X 7.

X O-line goes something like (L-R) 335,240,285,235,240. Not as big as last year but more athletic, more aggressive. The D-line (L-R) 235,255,220,245.

BG got 9 yards rushing first half and 60 for the game with their only run for 10yards or more on a botched punt. If LexCaths O-line is new I think your wrong...definite advantage X. The O-line made some mistakes last week. I guarantee they had a tough week of practice and will come out to prove themselves. If you think they only have "3 good players as I see it" then you haven't seen them play. Enjoy the ride down to Manual Stadium because it's going to be a long ride home.:ylsuper:

Unless Lex Cath's starting qb and rb are injured, I'll wager they get more than 9 yards in the first half and 60 for the game.

I don't think so. St. Xavier should win in a cakewalk. I'll attend this game to see if the Tigers lose and because I enjoy historic Manual Stadium.

If Coach Glaser failed to get the attention of his players, then LexCath could pull an upset. Highly unlikely, but a possibility.

As far as Louisville's superiority over Lexington....that's a non-issue. Even with Eric Shelton, a Lexington school couldn't beat Trinity and St. X in the same season.

Shane Isreal will be one of the best backs that X will face this year. Lex Cath has a young OL but they also have arguably the best skill kids from sideline to sideline in the state. If they are able to spread the field out and let guys like Caldwell, Revere and Guy get in open space then Isreal will find running room inside just as he did in the state championship last year. You never know it could be a blowout but I think this game will be closer than people think. I am anxious to see how Lex Cath's defense looks against X's offense.

 

On a side note last year's game was one of the best games in the state all year if not the best. Obviously Burke is gone but I think Teacock will step up. X lost some nice Linemen too so we'll see.

Your right, they have a QB AND RB, X shouldn't even show up tonight. What was I thinking! Granted, they probably will get more than that but X will control the line of scrimmage and win the ballgame

I don't think this will be a blowout either. I expect a really good game tonight. If your O-line isn't able to step up and dominate tonight, I believe X has the defense to control the game and get the win. I don't know a lot about your defense so, I too, will be interseted in what they do against our offense. BG always has one of the best defenses in the state and if it weren't for the X miscues the score last week would have been much different. Even BG's score was a result of Zoeller's fumble at the 10.

One possible key could be that the X secondary was tested very little during the pre-season and the BG game. I'm sure the Knights will put the ball up and see what the DB's can do.Should be a battle.

As for Schickel, he was a huge part of the defense last year. He was the 'QB' of the defense and tough to replace. He is playing at Georetown (along with Chris Dornbrook - MLB) as I understand. Should do well there.

And this surprise is the exact reason X will not look beyond this game, and will win this game.

BTW, Bill Glaser has returned to his Alma Mater and is teaching Math.

This is what I like about the St.X schedule, a tough opponent every week and a great game to watch for the fans. I would much rather watch these types of games and opponents than 40+ point blowouts. It also helps you find out your strenghts and weakness so you can adjust and improve. Lex.Cath will help prepare X for the rocks and dogs. Looking forward to a great night in Germantown.
