Cincinnati Police Officer Says Some Cops Are Looking To Shoot Blacks

Featured Replies

I'm sure he's just making it up.

I'd say it's more likely he's making it up or its just his opinion than he's heard an officer, much less officers say that's what they hope to do.

IMO it's his opinion he has posted.

Just like others who post their opinions and get fired.

So should he. But let's see if it's a double standard.

Oh wait, he won't be fired, he will be promoted to police chief and invited to drink a beer with Obama.

I guess the cop should have also added that blacks should be afraid of Hispanics too since there have been a few of them involved in shootings of blacks too in recent time.

I'm gonna agree that it's just his opinion.

So it's OK for him to put this in a public forum? Police are supposed to be trusted, this is telling his followers they aren't to be trusted. I don't feel it's very responsible for him to do what he did without going to his brass.

No, I definitely think he should not have done this in the public forum.

I'm going to guess this public speech , as ill-advised as it may be, is protected by the police union.

There is a difference between "protected" and above discipline. I highly doubt their contract says "any and all free-speech is protected by this contract." My assumption is the PD and/or City has a social media policy as well which addresses these type of things. And while you may have a Union represent you on something like this, if 99% of the other officers in it do not support it, that speaks loudly.

"Keep your hands in the air and never resist". If people would adhere to this, there would be a lot more folks alive today.

There are many in this crowd that disagree with this for some reason.

As a sworn Law Enforcement Officer he should name names of those looking for a reason to shoot blacks. He should be the star witness in a far reaching internal affairs investigation.

If found to be true, those officers named need to be out of law enforcement...if he's found to be just making this up as an attention grab, then he should apologize face to face to every officer in that department.

I think this is in the ballpark.

What a shame...

While true (in most cases), not doing so doesn't give officers free reign to shoot people though.

I don't think anyone feels it gives them free reign.

Oh, I think there's definitely a few on here that do. Every time an incident happens, they defend the cop saying, "well, they should've just followed orders".

FWIW, I don't consider you one of them.
