Since it's going to be one of these two come January 2017, Trump or Clinton, who would you like to see running the show and why?

I go with The Donald, because he's NOT PC and not a career politician, plus a 3rd Obama term with HRC would be eminent. Trump might be just as bad, but HRC would be no better.

I believe this is what most people think. This election will be which candidate will you vote against. Not which one you want to vote for.

In a "perfect world" that would work.

I know that people are thinking that "OMG Hillery is teh wurst evarrr" or "Trump iz Hitlur all ovur again" but if this country wants true principle and true belief then you need the big parties to wake up and take notice. If you don't agree with what s party is saying then don't vote for them just to avoid something you dislike more. Vote for someone whose ideals match more closely with your own.

If the libertarian vote hurts trump or clinton then good. The parties need to start listening to people other than the loudly angry.

I am voting Johnson and I will have a clean conscience when doing so. If my vote causes Trump to lose then maybe the issue is that the Republican party shouldn't have abandoned individual liberty for jingoism and anger. They left me when where someone went to the bathroom or who they married was more important than economic policy or nation defense. They lost me when they decided to police your personal life. The Democrats didn't have me either because they want to police my wallet, my health care, and are in favor of restricting my 2nd amendment rights.

I want both parties to burn and let something new and healthier rise from the ashes, and that will not happen if you are voting for which STD burns the least like you are talking about here.

My beliefs do generally line up with the Republican Party, not the libertarian and for sure not the democratic. Just not sure I'm sold on who was chosen to represent the Republican Party. Therefore I'll choose to roll the dice with the party that best aligns to my beliefs.

1. What will happen if neither canidate gets to 270? Now that would mean an independent will have to win some states but just imagine.

The thing about Trump is that he will rattle the cage and shake things up. Ultimately until we change things in congress nothing will really change.

You almost cant aline beliefs with a true party anymore, which im not sure is good or bad. Maybe we are working our way to a one party system where it is just about where canidates are on the issues individually.

I don't think you have to get 270. 270 is the winning number needed if only 2 candidates are getting electors.

Hmm did they change that, always thought you had to get 270 to be elected.

House elects the POTUS from the top 3 electoral vote winners.

As far as the sentiment goes " stick it to both parties " nothing could be more inaccurate - Trump has already stuck it to the R's . He is entirely out of the ring of top shelf power - The R's spent millions ( billions ??) and many many months trying to oust The Donald , and they lost . There is only 1 establishment candidate running this time around . And NO I'm not really on the Trump train . But he is not establishment at all.

No I think that has just been the 51% number needed in a race between just 2 candidates winning states. It's just easier to explain on newscast that the first to 270 is the winner. But if Johnson were to win a state with 10 electors then the number to win the majority would drop from 270.

You are correct, Trump is NOT establishment. Neither is he "Republican" or conservative. Trump is Trump and a lot of what that means is still unknown. Anyone who likes that and likes his stance on the things he has repeatedly talked about, like immigration and how to handle terrorism, should vote for him.

I actually think the Republican platform is somewhat unimportant as far as the presidency goes because Trump is not beholden to it. It is more important to the Republican candidates running for the House or Senate. Just thinking out loud in this paragraph.
