Cop shoots man laying on ground with hands in the air

Head of the Police Union says he thought the autistic kid was armed and about to kill the counselor. He tried to shoot the kid to stop him and missed, hitting the counselor.

I was listening to a retired ATF guy this morning. He says that is really bad spin.

Do officers carry binoculars? He mentioned that when he was in the field they did and could have easily determined the autistic person did not have a gun and was no danger to anyone.

He also mentioned the Tamir Rice shooting as being bad due to poor response tactics. He said that since the kid was by himself in a park and not yet a danger to anyone that they should have taken a more measured approach. Stop from a distance. Talk to him. Tell him to drop whatever he had. They left themselves no choice by rolling up on him.

Was the therapist handcuffed after he was shot?

I believe I read that somewhere. Kinda goes against the claim that they were trying to shoot the autistic kid, doesn't it?

Was the therapist handcuffed after he was shot?

Yes

Like i did I'm not sure i buy that statement.

Binoculars, Id say that is possible but who knows.

Handcuffing the therapist after he was shot completely kills the idea of trying to shoot the autistic guy for the therapists safety.

I said that about Tamir Rice from the get go. I understand why the officers opened fire once he tried to pick up the gun. However, there was no reason to roll up on a kid like that. They put themselves in the position where they had to take his life.

No way I buy that statement. If they were trying to protect him why handcuff him and not attempt to render aid after they "accidently" shot him?

At least he didn't resist.......

Yeah, REALLY hard to explain. This looks very bad.

Gotta change the pattern of a politically correct police force. Hire guys who don't have college degrees but who've been tested under combat stress.
