June 29, 201610 yr I don't eat much honey in general, but I almost always put a coating on ribs near the end of smoking them, just before I sauce them, if I sauce them. Add's a nice flavor and makes the sauce sticky instead of runny. On a side note, we have a couple of customers that have honey bee's and make their own honey. I haven't tried it yet, but after seeing this thread I may have to ask. Honey bee's seem to care nothing about anything other than working to make honey lol. You can run a mower or trimmer right next to their hives, with hundreds of them flying all around you, but they pay no attention to you at all.

June 30, 201610 yr It may just be an old wise tale, but they say eating locally grown honey (within 30 miles, I believe?) helps fight against allergies. Interesting fact, there is no requirement per FDA to put the words "locally grown" on any food label.
