Cubs @ Reds (6/27 - 6/29)

Featured Replies

Is he as untouchable as Starlin Castro was?

Castro was a head case that only wanted to play short. Baez is too versatile and clutch, and I believe he was Theo's first first round pick with the Cubs.

By the 15th inning I was sitting front row right behind the 1st base coach. I kid you not after Bryant got the hit to make it 3-2, and Rizzo came to the plate Votto looked out at Bruce, flashed 6 fingers, and then flashed two fingers, and then pointed to the right field stands.

As in thinking Rizzo was about to go yard?

The argument was for past years when he was OK. You correctly predicted he would be bad this year, but that still doesn't change what I and some others were saying.

Obviously you can't keep him on the MLB roster at this point.

He's not going anywhere until his contract is up and goes elsewhere as a FA, unfortunately

The bad part on Hoover last night is that he got the first out and then walks the next hitter on four straight pitches. I don't know if he has a concentration problem but that is terrible. And just think, Reds let Ramirez go and kept this guy.

And Hoover's performance overshadowed what was a VERY good baseball game. The pitching was really good. Lamb, Iglesias, Cingrani, Smith and Wood all pitched well.

Btw...Billy has three dingers this year, and 2 are off of Lester.

Hamilton CF

Votto 1B

Phillips 2B

Bruce RF

Duvall LF

Suarez 3B

Peraza SS

Barnhart C

Reed P

Letting Ramirez go instead of Hoover is insane. Neither are great but Hoover is the WORST.

Hoover sent down....Keyvius Sampson recalled.

If Hoover were a racehorse, he'd be PUT down! Lol

Yes. It was pretty funny.

That's how ya know your stars have given up :lol2:

Not sure how to feel about that. Maybe Votto should have tackled Hoover when he left the bullpen. Maybe he should have pitched. Either option is better than Hoover.

But "he's such a good guy and great in the clubhouse". :ohbrother::sarcastic::bag::eyeonyou:

Rizzo just hit an inside-the-park HR on a fly ball to left-center....How does that happen?

3-0 Cubs no out in the 1st..

Billy probably be on the concussion DL?
