Basketball season for 2016/2017 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Boone County? Remember, please be constructive.

I would love to be constructive... but the girls are still without a coach. Does anyone have any news on what's going on? It seems that there is no movement whatsoever towards filling the position - have applicants been interviewed or has the selection process even started?... what gives???

I know the names of the candidates involved. There is one HUGE name, if she gets the job. This is a jaw-dropper. Anyone else?

There is no "she" in the mix.

There have been interviews.

Frankly, I am surprised this has drawn out so long. Pure speculation on my part but when a hire at a school the size of Boone takes this long typically one of two things happened:

Lack of qualified applicants and the administration basically started reaching out to people.

or

Someone who was pegged as the coach either didn't accept the job or something kept them from accepting it (ie background check surprise, etc.)

Again, just speculation. But I can't understand why this has taken so long unless one of the two scenarios played out.

Will Boone be getting any new players this year?

I heard last week that they actually did hire someone. The fact that there's been no official announcement makes me wonder if it's true or not.

My understanding is that a new coach was indeed hired. I haven't seen any announcements about it either. Anyone know who is the new coach?

I've heard a couple things but I'm gonna take the cowards way out and just wait for the announcement in case I'm wrong

And we have a new coach at Boone County! Not a woman after all.

I hope you are just trying to humor yourself, the info was released yesterday and someone actually started a thread on this hire last night.
