Or what about those who say that these thugs and psychopaths shouldn't be deemed Muslims or connected to Islam because they don't in any way represent what Islam is about? They say that Islam is all about peace and these thugs are anything but peaceful. Not only that, some say that in order to defeat this evil we need the help of Muslims and by using the verbiage "Radical Islamic Terrorists, " we will only alienate those whose help we need in defeating the enemy.

 

In light of all we have seen lately, which side do you fall on? Speak apolitically, just as a human being and a concerned citizen of this country.

How is it that the left is so concerned with avoiding the offence Muslims by denying the influence of Religion on dark motivations, but now as foreign interventionists, have no problem overthrowing and occupying Muslim countries? Absolute hypocrisy. Absolute ignorance.

Exactly. Its like the difference between Christians and Cultural Christians. The "Fanatics" embrace the whole Quran, while Cultural Islamist pick and choose which elements they will follow.

There was no doubt in my mind that BGP has a number of Islamic scholars. I will rely upon you for my edification when it comes to Islam. Educate me. Do these so-called radical Islamics and those who some term "moderates" pretty much all believe the same way? I keep hearing some say that Islam is a religion of peace, yet others say it is an evil , hateful religion. Ali was a devout Muslim who, from what I have been able to find, believed whole-heartedly in the teachings of the Holy Quran. He seemed to be a man of peace. I guess what I'm asking you scholars is this: "Are true Muslims peaceful, loving people of strong faith who love God or are they evil and not to be trusted? One of my best friends at work is one of the sweetest , kindest, compassionate Christians that I know. She says Islam is an evil, dangerous religion that does not serve the one true God. I'm confused. Help me out scholars. Can you be a true Muslim and be a person of God?

That geography matters. Growing up In a secular state certainly helps as oppose to the Middle East and Africa.

Which might as well be called extortion. PC says we are bigots if we are suspicious when an Orlando type massacre happens. If a rattlesnake bites you, you don't look around for a black snake to control. No other religion that I know, again I'm not a scholar, demands by verse or song being called out five times a day for Muslims to stop whatever they are doing even in the middle of the night, and kneel on their prayer rug to say verses. And this was strictly observed by my son's roommate in college. This is in everything I have read and that sounds like brainwashing to me. What is their need to command such a tight control over one's believers?

I believe you are on to something. Brainwashing seems to a part of a lot of religions/cults. It appears as those Islam is no exception. Thanks for your input.

And it's also the most extreme because I know of NO other religion that demands the faithful practice their faith, five times a day.

My question is how many people that say it is demanded of all "true followers of Islam per the Quran" on here also are of the mindset of Sola Scriptura when it comes to Christianity. Before anyone gets offended I am not comparing the two, I am just curious in regards to how their understanding of a holy scripture relates.
