I use to be a straight up antiperspirant guy, but now am leaning towards regular deodorant. When using AP I would get small knots under my arms sometimes, don't get that with regular deodorant, but I do feel "less protected" so to speak with regular deodorant.

And do you have a favorite fragrance?

Regular deodorant unless it is going to be long and hot.

I don't sweat much unless it's really humid out, but I do work outside for a living so antiperspirant it is. Sometimes I will go with regular during the winter months.

Regular deodorant doesn't hold up to well with a guy who sweats like I do.

I hear ya Jim. I sweat like a "you-know-what" on cowboys' payday.

Is there really any difference? Isn't it just marketing and semantics?

Anti-perspirant. I sweat too much. I hate dark circles of sweat on my shirts.

For about the last 10 years I've been using the Crystal Deodorant Mineral Salt Stone that runs for $6.99 at Walgreens, and in my best estimation, one stone will last me about a full year.

I was initially skeptical at first whether or not it would work, but it truly does and for dramatically much less than what I used to spend a year buying antiperspirants one after another that stained the pits of my shirts, and not only that the mineral stone is much safer chemically.

You apply it while your pits are still moist after a shower. It does no good to rub it over nasty pits because it is scentless and will also lock your nastiness into place, so only apply immediately after getting out of the shower.

In the super warmer months when I sweat like crazy (like now), just to give me added confidence, I buy a $1 can of spray Power Stick Coolblast Deodorant at either the Family Dollar Store or Dollar General and apply only a very small quick squirt after I've applied the Crystal.

I only go through about 2 cans a year, so all in all I spend less than $10 a year on deodorant, and mostly feel that I'm taking the safest as well as cheapest route. I truly can get by without the extra Power Stick squirt for about 9 or 10 months out of the year.
