The 9th region reminds me of the old conference I coached in , in Ohio . Its like " Days of our Lives" with softball Dads .

Come on, that is as Caddy as a parent get's! Every girl on Every team has busted their butt to try and get to State. Totally uncalled for. Like I said, I will be the bigger parent and congratulate your team.

My comment wasn't directed at the kids although I can see how it may have been taken that way. More so at the "grasshopper" comment. Heck, I coached one of the kids on the CCHS softball team in summer ball the last couple years. As well as a year or two coaching middle school and AAU basketball in the county. A year asst Frosh Baseball coach. Sent two kids thru the system. One a very talented Musician and the other a pretty good baseball player, until the joke of an administration decided Geoff Boeseker and Steve Hamilton would not be brought back way back when. He chose to concentrate on other endeavors. Happy for the Baseball Program this year.

 

The intent of my original comment was about how there is no official KHSAA all state team, players or coaches. If for some reason you're not part of the club, there is a slim to none chance of being nominated, let alone selected. The Camels had a pretty successful year and happy for them as well. Best wishes to them in the future.

There is no official KHSAA All State team in any of the sports (except for all tourney for state tournaments). They are either done by Coaches Association or Associated Press/Local newspapers/web sites.

No, you are wrong to say that Playtowin29 is the kind of parent that gives sports a bad name....and wrong to imply that he indicated that because of win / loss record.

 

You were pretty quick to jump an HHS parent, but I doubt that you really know a lot about @Playtowin29 or their motivations....

 

The point is that these lists are not always all inclusive nor are they comprehensive in their look at the body of work that is put in by players and / or coaches.

 

I feel very confident in saying that you won't find more supportive parents around than some of these....I will agree that the Owensboro comment may have had a little slap in it, but we all get that once in a while...because we're parents..

What does this mean, "not be considered". As soon as JOAT posted this, Karma hit like a freight train. Congrats to the Regional POY. They deserve it. There are great players in every sport, every year, that aren't POY.

Do you even know who he's talking about or who the POY Was? Have you see any of them play? There's a reason for what they are saying. There's another thread about it that will explain it all.

Thanks for taking care of my light work. Amazing how some lurk on these airwaves to take as many potshots as possible. I believe player of the year was Baugh of Notre Dame and the coach was Stephenson of Notre Dame. Were they the best in the 9th region? Obviously to Dallas they were, but those that know the real story can think otherwise.

It doesn't matter how much softball I've seen. I don't vote. Coaches vote. And they see a lot of softball. And like it or not, they made their choice. So along with all the crap coaches have to put up with all season, their POY selection is being questioned. Funny how I'm the one painted as taking shots.

I read the other thread. You posted that all kids are eligible. Which is why I questioned all the posts saying they were not. Your post below:

Good point, but most coaches won't nominate kids that would threaten their kid's chances. So true, they are all eligible, but only association members can nominate and vote.

She may have been. I will defer to you since you know everything about Northern Kentucky softball and some. The facts have been discussed ad nauseum on here and you and others just like to continue the fight. We all get it that Coach Coffey did not get his dues paid THIS YEAR of all years and his girls unfortunately paid the price.

 

We all know they were not even considered for POY because he did not pay his dues. Period end of story.

Do you know how many coaches were allowed to vote and how many were even allowed to nominate players? I'm sure you don't. Go read the other thread and educate yourself before you act like you have any clue. I'm a coach and I didn't vote and none on my players had a chance to be nominated. Neither were several other players in NKy. The process is flawed and if you don't know the process, you're argument is flawed.
