June 3, 201610 yr She's got a point. Georgia ACLU director resigns over transgender fight | Political Insider blog
June 3, 201610 yr Makes sense to me. You can't ask questions, voice opinions, or disagree without being labeled a bigot. In fact, it seems like the term is used more like a weapon to silence those who have differing opinions. In the case of transgender people using bathrooms that do not match their anatomy, it seems like the discussion is being squelched use of the "bigot" label or by the federal government wanting to end the discussion by edict. Maybe we'll listen to the concerns raised by our children, like the little girl in the video. BTW, labeling a person a "bigot" is different than saying to someone that their idea is wrong, illogical, or otherwise untenable. Ideas can be wrong and even idiotic without the person holding them being a bigot or homophobe or racist, for that matter.

It's gotten so bad with people being labeled a bigot simply for saying something you disagree with that I just totally dismiss it when I hear someone on the left calling someone a bigot. That is actually sad because sometimes when a leftist calls someone a bigot they are correct. However, they do it so often (boy calling wolf) that I just assume it is just their way to silence someone they disagree with. Regarding the bathroom issue, it is clear that LGBT rights trump women's rights in the minds of the left now...I totally disagree with them obviously but the left is all in on this issue...
June 3, 201610 yr She only quit after the men in the women's bathroom scared her little girls. Which brings a point, how many people try to make this stuff happen thAt don't have kids and aren't able to see it through a parents eyes. This woman did and it changed her mind.
June 3, 201610 yr The only time any leaders change their minds is when something actually affects them. Take illegal immigrants, if one or more of them robbed, raped and killed a son or daughter, or grandkid of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Obama, Hillary, then I bet they would change their stance on the open border and sanctuary cities they condone and allow. But until something like that hits close to home they don't care about the average person.

What if an illegal alien pulls someone close to you out of a burning building or does something else to save their life? Or even does something simple like helping them change a tire?? Would that be enough to change your mind?? Why is the natural assumption that immigrants are here to do harm to us?? Do you believe they aren't capable of doing good??

Do you believe they aren't capable of doing good?? He didn't say they couldn't be capable of good. He is pointing out something that is very obvious. An illegal immigrant killed a woman in San Francisco, a sanctuary city. He pointed out, and I believe correctly, that if it had been the daughter, etc., etc. of one of the leaders on the Left, they would probably change their stance. Why is it every time someone makes a valid point about something that in negative towards an illegal immigrant, you come with the "what if" drum beat?

Why is it every time someone makes a valid point about something that in negative towards an illegal immigrant, you come with the "what if" drum beat? So only the negative can be introduced?? It's not worth it to mention other possible outcomes, which are just as likely if not sometimes more likely to happen?? You accuse me of introducing the "what if drumbeat"...isn't always pointing out the possible negative outcomes also introducing a "what if" drum beat?? I'm not saying illegals have never done awful things. But it's also a pretty reasonable to say, that they have done a lot of and are capable of doing good things. And it's just as reasonable to ask if you were the recipient of an overly gracious/good deed, would that change your stance from negative to positive. That's not being fair?? Discussions typically have two sides, but are you saying in these cases that the other side isn't worth hearing. Why post this stuff if you don't want to hear the other side. Sorry, but it's just my nature to accentuate the positive, and not focus on the negative. I guess I just don't understand why pointing out the negative in everything is the first direction many on this site go. Why does hearing the other possibilities bother you so much?? Generally, at least in my life, the best solutions and decisions come from considering ALL possibilities, and looking at both sides of a problem. If that makes me a bad guy, then so be it...it's been very successful for me personally, professionally and as a coach. The increasingly negative, hostile tone this site has taken on over the last several months is depressing. If you don't want to hear the other, or if you just think my opinion isn't worth hearing, just say so, which I'm guessing was the purpose of your last post.
June 4, 201610 yr People don't care about the good, it's only the bad. I get your point, but that's not what I'm tryin to say. This woman had a very negative experience and it changed her mind. It can happen both ways, but I'm pointing out what it may take for a leader to finally admit we have an immigration problem and YES Trump is right, we are not just getting all the good immigrants, many are bad people.
June 4, 201610 yr So let's say one of The before mentioned leaders has a kid or grandkid get raped by someone acting transgender, does that change their mind then. I willing to say so.

Or even does something simple like helping them change a tire?? Would that be enough to change your mind?? Why is the natural assumption that immigrants are here to do harm to us?? Do you believe they aren't capable of doing good?? My first question is how would we know he/she/it is an illegal alien? But lets assume we know they are some how. I thank them for their kind gesture. Then politely remind them that they are here illegally, and guide them to where they can become a legal citizen, and that if our paths should cross again and they were to still be illegal, I would be happy to transport them to the local ICE location.
June 4, 201610 yr illegal aliens have already demonstrated they do not respect our laws. I am sure many of them are still decent human beings but breaking the law is one negative that they have against them, not due to race or any thing except their own behavior. I don't pretend to have the answers to the illegal immigrant problem, but it is a problem. We need to start by respecting our own laws and if the laws are having unintended consequences that are judged to be an even worse injustice, we should change those laws. sorry, this is way off topic.
June 4, 201610 yr I believe most illegal aliens are here to improve their lives. Yet it does not matter about their good intentions, they are here illegally. The law of the land must be obeyed or law and order breaks down and the system falls into chaos.

Then politely remind them that they are here illegally, and guide them to where they can become a legal citizen, and that if our paths should cross again and they were to still be illegal, I would be happy to transport them to the local ICE location. You probably wouldn't know, and that's part of the point. The vast majority that are here are good. Hard working, law abiding, simply here to improve their lives. Good neighbors and citizens. But in our fervent desire to send em all home we forget about that and turn our focus and lump them in with the tiny percentage that have caused problems and villi anime all of them. And we do it across the board. The terrorists become all Muslims, the rioters become all democrats(even though we don't know that they are even voting Dems to begin with), transgenders become targets and associated with sex offenders, etc. and when someone mentions that, they become too PC. In the case of immigration, we ignore the big elephants in the room, which are the business owners that hire them (and provide the reason for them for being here in the first place), and ourselves (meaning most of society, not us specifically)who look the other way when when purchasing goods and services from those companies, and not demanding the too follow the laws. I get the preaching we hear about the law of the land and that we must follow it...but we conveniently never discuss the labor laws when discussing this matter. The discussion is all very one sided. June 4, 201610 yr I don't think this is so. I think we should follow the law. Illegal immigration is... well... illegal. All workers should have social security numbers by which their wages are tracked so they pay taxes. Companies who knowingly hire illegals should pay fines that will make it hurt to hire illegals. For some reason, there are those in this country who don't want to follow established laws. Unfortunately, these individuals are sometimes in charge of enforcing the law and of administering the country. They should be fired for dereliction of duty. The firings should start at the top of the heap, rather than making an underling a scapegoat. Can you agree with that, @rjs4470?
