Byrd has earned $38.M in career, per @Baseball_ref, including $16.7M from 2013 to ’15 after first PED ban. Salary this season was $1M.

Seems worth it right?

Abso-freaking-lutely worth it.

Don't see him suiting up again.

Drugs are bad kids!

Abso-freaking-lutely worth it.

I'd do it in a heart beat.

We have this conversation all the time with my buddies. If you weren't already a complete stud, why wouldn't you cheat to get that amazing contract. If I didn't have HOF talent, the threat of missing half a season but getting a huge contract, probably wouldn't stop me.

Byrd told his teammates that this was the end of his career, and not how he wanted it to end. He will not appeal.

I remember some players being very upset when the Cardinals gave Jhonny Peralta a big contract following his suspension for steroids. At the time, their grievances were that you can suspend a player for 50+ games, but you're really rewarding him if you're going to offer a handsome contract the next year.

On a side note, nobody can be surprised that Byrd was juicing. Just look at him.

Thought Byrd said he admitted to taking the supplement but wasn't aware that it was banned. Hard to believe.....those trainers do a pretty good job of keeping players informed. And, again, why would you without checking with a trainer first.

See post #3 in this thread for why....I'd do it without a split second of hesitation.

Because he's lying.
