They should have tried the "step off".

This is one of those games where you feel bad for both teams. Tough situation to be in.

Fact is that the smaller schools will always be taking there beatings. Occasionally they may win or even keep it close but very rarely. Unless all sports go to the class system that is the way it is. So by having the Districts be a draw smaller schools can limit the number of beatings they take. They can play other small schools all year long instead of being forced to play larger schools twice in the regular season and once more in the District. Class system takes care of this. Also what would take care of this is realignment. Using the 37th (Harrison, NIcholas, Pendleton & Robertson) as an example. Harrison has probably won the last 20 Districts championships in a row. How much more fair would it be to have 4 small schools in a district and give them a chance at winning the District and going to the Region instead of always being someones stepping stool for another title. All sports need to be realigned by classes. Smaller schools might have to travel farther but I would be willing to bet they already are to play someone of comparible talent.

KHSAA has the only non-biased voice of sanity to bring to the table. Let's show some leadership, as opposed to job preservation. The "Ostrich Syndrome" shows only one part of the anatomy! Julian that comment is directed at you. Let's see some leadership and work toward getting all Districts operating by the same rules! Seeding is the only level playing field.

Big fan of the All A tourneys, I'm assuming?

Not really my son goes to a 4A school. If you are going to class 1 sport then class them all. Maybe not as many as football. Put 1&2A together, 3&4 together & 5&6 together.

Doesn't the 38th draw for districts as well?

No the 38th is a seeded district. As far as I can tell there are only 4 that are draw Districts.

39th Bracken (12-18), Mason(15-10), Augusta(1-12), & St. Pat (2-11)

44th Berea (1-17), Model (13-22), Madison Southern (17-16), Madison Central (29-7)

54th Buckhorn (12-17), Perry County Central (29-11), Leslie (12-15), Hazard (29-11)

64th Ashland Blazer (19-15), Fairview (6-24), Boyd (19-18),

If this is a 3 team district it is seeded by default.

That's the reason for the 38th being seeded is Robertson fielding a team from season to season in the past was not guaranteed so a three team district seeded anyway so they adopted it as the standard.

Ok

I did a quick google search & saw an article from January, 2015 that had 9 or 10 districts listed that seeded. The 38th & 39th being 2 on the list.

Is seeding/draw per sport or across the board? As the article could have been referring to basketball based on date of article.

per sport. 39th seeded last season because it was a 3 team district because Augusta didn't play enough games to be eligible
