Tough loss by BBHS by 4 points today. Some excellent places and a strong winning performance in the 4 x 400 relay. Northern Kentucky showed very well in the 1A meet today, in particular in the 4 x 400.

I've always been kinda partial to the field events. Congrats to Mason County's Jay Stanley on back-to-back state titles in the shot.

 

Speaking of which, the kid from Brown is a beast, and the 3A shot title was won by a 9th grader who hit 55 feet and change. Freshmen winning the throws is almost unheard of.

Was told that the Conner girls set new school records in the 4x100m dash and the 4x200m dash. While they couldn't compete with the speedsters to the south they represented their school well.

Dixie Heights 400m Relay time finished 7th and set a new school record. Ryle 800m Relay set a new school record and finished 11th.

 

Matt Froschauer won the 110m Hurdles and finished 4th in the 300m Hurdles! :thumb:

School record in the 4 x 400?

Will Allen of Dunbar won the 100, 200, 400 and anchored the 4x400 state championship team. Kasaun James of North Hardin played Alydar, finishing second in all three races.

 

A young lady from, Taliyah Townsend, also swept the 100, 200 and 400. Does anyone know where she plans to run next year? I searched and could not find anything.

Boone 4x100 PR'd yesterday. They were hoping to set the school record. Didn't happen but they ran their best race of the year. It helps to be competing against a fast field.

 

Congrats to Ryle's Matt Frosh. on his state championship win in the 110m hurdles. It was a pleasure to watch him run.

The C-J said today that she hopes to run at Baylor but she won't sign with a college for two more weeks.

A little short. School record in 4 x 100 and Joey Hickman gets it in the open 400. 4 x 400 team wins by 2+ seconds going away.

Allen has committed to Alabama. I think, but not sure, that James is committed to Auburn.
