I agree with you on your point. If I was allowed, I would have just gotten ASE certified in automotive maintenance & said, "here is my higher degree" :lol:

 

I enjoyed getting my Masters in History & overall several of the things I did in that program I have brought to the classroom, but I also choose that masters since it wasn't a Masters of Secondary Education, Elementary Ed, Sp. Ed, etc....... On the slim chance that at this point I would ever get out of education, a Masters in Education wouldn't be marketable, even less than a Masters in History. (I always wanted to work for a museum)

 

I would generally disagree with you on this point. You might be very surprised at what an M.Ed. can do for you on the outside, in particular in the HR field. If you chose correctly, and didn't choose the pure educational certification, an M.Ed. can be 6 figure lucrative with some hustle.

I know what you mean, I am not slighting any degree, they are all important. This was my mindset when I was just a few years into teaching. I have a 2nd Masters - Rank 1 in Educational Leadership, so if that parlayed into 6 figures down the road I am ok with that.

What happened was an ego driven patent convinced a group of kids to leave. The parent, his child and another child left the South Kenton Lions due to the parent having issues. Those two players then we're going to play at twenhofle but didn't stay on that team for more than a week. The issue was Grant but one parent who convinced a few to follow. After they left there was a blow up and most do not speak to that parent now. Another one of the players got hurt before the season started and enrolled back at Grant.

A teaching degree gets you certified (along with a lot of other things) but you must work towards your masters degree to remain certified. He has a key teaching certificate.

The EPSB is a mess. Had someone who has a MAT in Special Ed from Liberty university but the EPSB wouldn't recognize it, they wanted them to take classes from a KY institution. Once he got the classes from Univ. of Cumberlands we looked at his transcript and the classes were basically the same thing. Now I am no conspiracy theorist but I wondered if Liberty University was in KY would they have recognized his classes. Completed classes and passed praxis and KY said no on certificate.

I had talked to Liberty about getting into their MAT for SpEd and they notified me before I applied there to make sure it would be accepted in KY. Lo and behold, I was told it would not be acceptable in KY to obtain a certificate with.

KY has a list of schools that they accept degrees from on the EPSB website.
