Bryce Harper is a class A Punk

Featured Replies

I will take him and all of his anger issues on my team.

Every clubhouse needs this kind of player. Look at what O'Neil did for the Yankees. Passion is a good thing. The celebration tirade was a bad look.

I'd take him in a Reds uniform in a heartbeat.

No, the Reds dont need BP 3.0

You're right about one thing...his season long stats will probably be 3x BP's lol.

The thing that gets me is your team just hit a walk off and you are getting ready to celebrate with your boys and that's the first thing you are thinking about?

then backs it up by saying "If I get fined, I'll pay the fine...maybe Knight (the ump) will get fined, too"

To be fair, he'd only been ejected like five minutes before. I can see why he'd still be mad. It would be different it he'd been tossed in the first inning.

From the video I saw from last night's game the umpires made sure to back their own. Took a called third strike that looked pretty low. I read he also was called out on a play where it looked like he was safe.

He didn't say a word.

To be fair, he was wrong. Plain and simple the pitch was a strike. Be man enough to admit you were wrong and apologize to the umpire instead of being a punk kid all your life.

Perhaps Dusty will have a positive influence on him.

I wouldn't pay $200M for Bryce, let alone the $300M he will get. Good luck with that...

According to baseball-reference.com's similarity ratings, his batting numbers at age 22 compare most favorably with Frank Robinson, Tony Conigliaro, Mickey Mantle, Miguel Cabrera, Mike Trout, Hank Aaron, Ken Griffey Jr., Orlando Cepeda, Andruw Jones, and Cesar Cedeno at the same age. But yeah, don't pay him.

How many teams in the World Series in the past 5 years have had a player making over $200M at the time?

Oh, you absolutely have to pay the roster appropriately. You can't tie it all up with one player. But if any player is worthy of that price, Harper is near the very top of the list.

Wouldn't doubt for a second that Votto would have a similar reaction in that situation.
