Sources are wrong Penny will never come to Mercer although Gillis is at Mercer now. Trevon and Penny not even on same AAU teams this summer.

Anderson County doesn't have alot of depth.

That may be a factor this year. They have a good group of incoming freshman that should help with that next year, but that's a year away.

I think your right about Cobe he,from all I've heard, is very dedicated to AC. I did not see anything more than speculation, and rumors on that issue. I've heard everything from Penny to mercer, to Faulkner to AC.

Anderson, even without Gillis, still has a great team. Pretty darn good coach too. The future is plenty bright, for this team

Bobby Knight was a pretty good coach, ?? not sure about the type of game that is played today AC?? sometimes the game passes you up when you are not willing to change.

I assume you are saying, judging by your comment, that the game has passed Coach Drury by. Me, personally, I don't see that at all. Now, one can have issue with any coach on style of play, offense/defense, who plays and who doesn't, how a program is run, etc. etc., the list goes on. We see those kinds of posts about coaches on here all the time. But, as far as Coach Drury is concerned, I definitely don't think the game has "passed him by".

Just wondering, what do you see that would lead you to that opinion?

I have watched AC basketball for over 20 years, Player development in the past was great, but over the last 4 years fundamentals seem to be missing at positions other than guards, post development is non existent. Maybe it is just the culture of todays game that players are fundamentally weaker.

Did this thread just turn into it must be coach drury's fault? If you talk to that man for two seconds, you realize that nothing has passed him by. Easily one of the best coaches in the region.

Looks like I stand corrected from another thread where a poster had stated he heard Anderson was getting a local transfer and I said I didn't think so. Turns out he was right. Local Christian Academy kid transferred in, athletic with some length. This should greatly help in replacing Gillis who they lost through transfer. He has the ability to get immediate minutes assuming he gives 100% effort and plays defense. It will be hard to replace Gillis' all out effort and hustle, but I think this kid has the tools to do it.

Coach Drury's name is on the court, ENOUGH said, not many coaches can say that, easily one of the best coaches out there, and by the way has done it the right way in his tenure. Has won multiple regions, and was just in the final, it seems he is still doing a lot right. Tough district to compete in on top of dealing with Scott Co, Bullitt East, Oldham for all those years. Anderson will be one of about 4-5 schools that can win the region.

Told you so. Also hearing there is another kid out with them that could really help them inside IF he has a good attitude and stays out of trouble.

Hearing #1 preseason ranking in the 8th.

You sure did...I'll have to take that one on the chin.:lol2:

The other kid you are talking about...did he play summer ball with them? If so I think I know who you are referring to.
