Agreed. The last one was a fun game to watch! From what I recall, Highlands scored one in top of 1. Cov Cath scored two in bottom of 6th. Highlands scored two in top of seventh. Only thing that would have made it a better game would have been if Cov Cath would have scored two in bottom of seventh!

You may be right. The Freshmen and JV tournaments must be done by Saturday evening.... well really Sunday, but some school are forbidden to play on Sundays. Freshmen is on round 2 and JV starts tonight. It is going to be tough.

Despite all the rain last week, the freshmen tournament looks like it will be back on schedule after tonight. Of course the rain tomorrow will be problematic I'm sure.

Wednesday Game (Championship)

At St Henry at 7pm.

Beechwood defeated Scott 7-2. This was played at Scott.

Cov Cath beat Highlands tonite in a very well played and pitched game. Final score 1-0. Great game. Also very fortunate to finish the game before the rains hit!

Both teams starting pitchers went the distance and were absolutely awsome. Cov Cath had 2 hits and I believe highlands had 1. Sean Casteel pitched for the Colonels and Nolan ??? pitched for the birds. Evan Stallman also had an awesome game catching for the Colonels. He Had 2 strike em out throw em out double plays.

Hopefully a Highlands poster can give us the name of their pitcher. He threw a heck of a game and NKY baseball people should learn his name. He is going to give opponents problems for the next 3 years. Great game young man!

I'm not sure who all is involved in the running of the NKY frosh tourney but I do know one is Patrick Rottinghaus from Dixie. It's a challenge to coordinate this due to rain and field availability plus having those days have umpires available.

 

Kudos to PRott and the rest who are involved in this tourney. It's really done well and the players have to enjoy it.

I think in a few years people are going to look back and say "CCH had both Casteel AND Coldiron on the frosh team? How good was their JV?"

 

I'm looking forward to seeing Coldiron back on the bump . Hasn't thrown in about 18 months.

 

It's nice to have depth in the program.
