Mayfield Cardinals - 2015 Grade

Featured Replies

A

The only blemish on Mayfield's schedule was a close loss to a solid McCracken County team.

On the plus side, the Cardinals moved up in class (from 1A to 2A) and promptly disposed of three 2A Catholic powers in a row to win the 2A title. Sure, the Cardinals got a little help from one of the officiating crews in the finals but they didn't need it.

Do you agree or disagree with a grade of A for the Cardinals? How would you grade them?

Anytime you get 3 Archdiocese to call emergency meeting its all A's

The Cardinal barbarians should be good enough in 2016 to again cause the Catholics to worry. Maybe so much so they have to call the Pope for advice

2015 was a unsure year for the Cards who lost a lot from 2014 and were moving into the world of 2A that featured a western road full of highly regarded privates including the 2 time defending Catholic Colts who were expected to take all to the woodshed. Realest here knew we would be decent but also knew that a title was far from a given. Great job by this team in developing into a state champion in a year that by Cardinal standards could be considered a semi or small rebuilding year A all day!

You can say that again.

Mayfield was under rated all year in 2A and showed they were still champs evens though they were class A the year before.

As a beloved cardinal fan, I will rate the 2015 team/season as a A+..

Reasons: they were in a so called rebuilding year yet still won it all..their defense literally played lights out against some amazing talented teams..the 2016 edition looks to be even bettet!
