I'm not condoning this kids behavior. Punish him in some fashion. But he's not a sex offender. His life shouldn't be ruined for a stupid HS prank.

These types of things have been going on for years...I saw an old football tea picture from the 60's where one of the kids (later signed with UK) was on his butt butterfly style with his hands on his knees. He was flipping the camera off with one of his hands. The picture is hanging in the school...he has flipped people off for 50+ years now.

 

Redo the yearbook...but don't ruin the kids life.

DUMB, about as dumb as suspending the little kid for chewing a pop tart into a gun shape.

If they do go after the kid this hard, then they need to go after the publisher of the yearbook, the editor, and the school as well. Distributing porographic matterial of minors is a crime is it not?

Another reason why I feel the legal process should be a last resort with high school issues. While I recognize this can't be an absolute position it aligns with my general aversion of law enforcement involvement in the classroom.

The problem is when a DA office only can look at things as a black and white issue. Either looking for headlines or to look strong .

 

I think anyone with common sense can agree the charges are excessive , the kid doesn't belong in jail or on a list. Have him do some community service and go through the diversion program and call it a day.

Ruin a kid's life over a childish ( not very smart, victimless ) prank. Because he's an obvious danger to society. I guess when I mooned the principal in HS I should have went to prison instead of being sent home the rest of the day.

A Mesa high school student won't be prosecuted on a felony charge after police say he exposed himself in a football team picture that ended up in the school yearbook.

 

The Maricopa County Attorney's Office announced Wednesday that 19-year-old Hunter Osborn won't be prosecuted on a felony charge of furnishing harmful items to minors.

 

The misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure was returned to Mesa police for further investigation.

 

Police say all parties involved no longer seek prosecution and the case will be closed.

 

Osborn was arrested after police were alerted Saturday to a Red Mountain High School team photo showing Osborn exposing his penis through the top of his waistband.

 

Police say Osborn admitted to the prank, said he did it on a dare and was disgusted by his actions.

If the picture on Deadspin is accurate, it's no wonder he had it out.
