If this kid wasn't disabled, and Mr. .50 did the same thing, would this have made news?

If this kid were "normal" (using that word in quotes because..well...what is "normal" anyway")

 

Not in defense of Mr. .50, but people with certain disabilities appear the same as "normal" people. I don't think Mr. .50 singled him out because he was disabled. He's just a selfish jerk and would have (and likely has for a long time) treated ANYONE like that.

 

I thought this too. I also feel its rather odd that we have a person here with social anxiety issues, and yet here we are socializing the events everywhere, making him more uncomfortable im sure. Oh course with the parents leading the charge.

They are suing him for 1 million dollars for bullying. They have a strong case since there is video of it. They could set a new precedent with a victory.

I don't blame the parents. 50 cents screwed up. And if this family gets just a fraction of that money they can set up a fund for this young man who likely will be living with his folks until they pass and has limited earning potential.

 

What's the biggest concern for parents with a special needs child? "Who is going to look out for my child when I'm gone?" (In this cruel world with characters like 50 cents.)

 

So yeah--throwing some money their way is the least he can do, and can go a long way to help out this young man for years to come.

Maybe this was the lesson he needed to stop sticking his phone in anyone's face whether they are disabled or not. I mean, who does that? Walks up to a complete stranger, starts making fun of them and videotapes the entire interaction?! I hope it does hit him in his wallet. I am sure the only reason he issued an apology was because it was going to cost him financially.

Nobody would pay attention to something posted by "Random Joe", so the action would not be as far reaching, humiliating and damaging.

The parents are not suing. They accepted his apology, asked that he make a donation to Autism Speaks and are moving on.
