Where is she playing in college ?

 

She had many many offers and some from much larger schools (up to D1). Some were full rides OR just about as close as you can get for softball. But she fell in love with Taylor University and the coach and no one was able to sway her differently...including her family as she passed up a lot of money!!!! LOL!

I'd think that might qualify her in " best ever" talk at the SS position

Moran is very good and Coffey has trained with her and her dad in her earlier years. Defensively, Coffey can hold her own. Ask Maddi's dad! (LOL!) IMO, Maddie is a little quicker and hits better though. I have no problem with people comparing Haley to Maddi...that's for sure!!! Maddi is a great player, a great kid and is having an outstanding college career...which was expected!

 

I'll add this and I tell everyone this...no girls are going to make a living playing softball. Each kid should do what makes them happy as an individual. So the experience the kids wants to have is up to them. If they can get some money for playing a sport along the way, then more power to them. Heck, I know Haley is getting more money than several kids I know playing D1. As much as people like to grade a kid on where they go to school, it's really not that easy. Girls especially, look at colleges for many different reasons. Haley made it clear early on that she wanted to play in college, but also wanted to make sure she could focus on her studies and have a college experience that was not dominated by the sport. She also had a few offers to play both bball and sball. But again, she didn't want sports to dominate her college experience. My point, where kids (especially girls) decide to go to school has little to with how good they are or what they can and can't do. I know a few kids that had D1 offers that didn't even play in college.

Taylor is a fine school and the coach and program seem to be great. They were one of Gabrielle Stewart's top options. And the chance to play with Haley again was very enticing. In the end Gabby made the decision that the program at ONU for what she wanted was stronger than Taylor's, even though it will cost her more in student loans.

Wish her the best and a speedy recovery. Was a pleasure to watch play a few basketball games. I'm sure she brought that same style to the diamond.

I do wish the kid the best and certainly hope she doesnt miss many games . I'm a sucker for Madi I suppose . It always grated on my nerves she never got the accolades she very much deserved . Thats all.

You make a good argument, but I saw more of Haley in high school than Maddie, thus I said what I said. Make no mistake Maddie Moran is legit!!!

Wow sorry to hear this. Wish Haley a speedy and full recovery. Good luck, the birds will surely miss you while you are out. Definitely one of the best SS around.

Haley is the best ss I have seen in a long time. I hope she can play, she is the best 5 tool player on her team and in the region.
