April 12, 201610 yr A lot of truth to that. Same way with phone calls. We used to welcome them, now it is why in the bleep are they calling me instead of texting me.
April 12, 201610 yr All changed for me when we got a puppy. Heck, even if he hears something that sounds like a bell on the TV, he's gotta defend his turf. The bell on the Republican Debate, did him numbers a few months ago!
April 12, 201610 yr I'm definitely guilty. When someone comes to the door unexpectedly it's 100% of the time someone trying to sell me something (religion included). Sometimes it's an earnest kid trying to make some money or get a business started. And that's fine. But sometimes it's people from companies who train them in the more aggressive tactics where you end up having to be rude to them. I've noticed this is now SOP for the mall kiosk people too, but that's another story. :lol2:
April 13, 201610 yr Mom has congestive heart failure and flash pulmonary edema. This always hits her at night and she can't notify me until it's very bad. So I have hooked up a doorbell system in the house. The button is by her bed and the bell by my bed (it's also the only doorbell in the house). So if the doorbell goes off in my house it always sends me into a panic because it means a 911 call and a trip to the Emergency Room.
April 13, 201610 yr At the TAC house. Doorbell rings, I open the door, no one is there, there is a package on the ground. I grab it, finally see the delivery guy, shout thanks and bring the package in the house. Happens about once a week. If it rings on the weekend, it costs money or time.
April 13, 201610 yr Doorbell rings and 90% of the time is it a kid asking if my kid can play. Annoying? Sure. But I smile because I am so grateful that my kid has lots of buddies and they love to play outside.

And woods behind my house.
