Spieth is making lightwork of Augusta National. -5 through 14, two shots ahead of Justin Rose.

Looks like day 1 is going to have some decent scores. Predicting winds later in the evening, morning tee times look to have an advantage.

Nevermind...Stupid espn tracker.

Scores are all a lot higher so far today due to winds.

The Els six-putt was brutal yesterday. It made me feel better about my game though. I'd feel silly for not picking Spieth at this point, but Sergio is my fallback if the youngster comes unraveled.

Watching Els was painful. He has been a mess with real short putts for the last few months at least. It has to be driving him crazy..."unless you have gone through it, it is hard to explain" is what he has said and I believe him.

I think Rory will win this but cannot wait to watch. I would love to see Spieth go back to back or Rory win the career grand slam. I would like to see Day make a charge too. Dechambeau is such an interesting dude and loves the wind so I would not count him out either...I think he really believes he can win this thing.

I think today and tomorrow is going to be a lot of fun to watch.

Just saw a ball blown off the green into the water, just as the player was going up to mark his ball. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Tough break...

The way it looks, if Spieth pars out today and tomorrow...I don't know if the others can catch him. Wind and slick greens make for some big scores :)

Weather is suppose to be much better tomorrow last I heard.

Spieth gags on the 17th and 18th. Still has a one shot lead going into Sunday.

Spieth spit the bit there at the end. Makes it much more interesting for the final round.

Sure does. Went from practically a cakewalk to letting a WHOLE BUNCH of guys back in it.

That driver and/or three wood off the tee is becoming bigtime problematic for Spieth. If he loses, it will be because of the trouble that shot has caused. Only so much recovery magic a putter can provide on those greens.
