March 30, 201610 yr Author The league can be very cruel in many ways, this is just another one of those. A lot of people were giddy when the Lakers picked him. I always felt it was a bad fit. Because 1. Comparing him to Kobe and him taking over the team was not fair, and only setting him up to fail. 2. That locker room was way to immature to throw him into that. Kobe has checked out, he's don't care like he use to at this point. 3.byron scott is terrible. 4. The LA life is not an easy neighborhood to fit into. Had he went to the spurs, his clock would be way less but his development would be ahead of schedule. The Spurs and Pop would have had a plan for him, other than saying he's taking over for Tim Duncan. Gezzzz I've watched 90% of the Laker games this year. Yes, I need my head checked. 1. No one alive has ever compared him to Kobe. At least I have yet to hear anyone make that comparison and I listen to LA radio every day and I watch every Laker game I can. You show me someone who has compared him to Kobe and I'll show you someone you should never listen to about basketball ever again. 2. Agree on that locker room being a horrible environment for him. Nick Young has been involved with the sexual harassment situation with Jordan Clarkson and now he has this with D'Angelo. Nick Young will take the fall for this from the organization standpoint. Kobe hasn't checked out. He's actually been a damn good mentor for D'Angelo on the court. I'm interested in seeing how he responds to this seeing as how he has been through a similar situation. 3. Byron Scott is beyond terrible but I will say this.....D'Angelo just proved Byron Scott right about his maturity level. I hate that Byron is right. 4. The LA life is not easy at all. I still think he recovers. The LA life will be more forgiving than his current locker room. I think given his situation with Byron Scott his development is just fine. He's where I was hoping he would be and he has shown he is capable of being a go to guy on the court once the Kobe circus is over. I think he takes a big leap on the court next year.
March 30, 201610 yr The one thing that DeAngelo has on his side is that the end of Kobe's career is about to take full affect, so this may get lost a little in the shuffle as far as the media is concerned, probably by this weekend. But players aren't going to forget that. I wish society wasn't so accepting of athletes cheating on their significant others.
March 30, 201610 yr Author It is a shame but I agree with you. I don't know how he ever "gets past" this in the Laker locker room. There are some lines you just do NOT cross and this is definitely one of them. He will probably need a fresh start somewhere else but players on other teams may not be very forgiving either. I'll be shocked if the Lakers give up on him over this. Surely not. #2 pick in the draft who has proven his worth? I don't see it. They'll get rid of the vets who don't like him before they give up on him. He actually has some worth and meaning to them unlike their vets. And he's still cheap.

When he was deafred the fans were split on D'Angelo and some said he'd be a bust and others like myself loved the pick. He won over Laker Nation about a month ago. Now the fans are spkit again with half saying he is a snitch and the other half saying Nick Young is the real issue and not D'Angelo. D'Angelo definitely broke the code and has a long way to go to be trusted again. A lot of folks in his corner are saying whay you said that Nick Young shouldn't be the victim in this story.

But I chalk it up to a teenager, being stupid with a cell phone. Happens everywhere, just sucks for him that he's in the national spotlight. I think he'll move past it. I have no sympathy for Nick Young. 1) Don't cheat 2) Don't brag about your cheating 3) Don't make up a stupid nickname for yourself lol

Today will be brutal for D'Angelo. Edited March 30, 201610 yr by PurplePride92
March 30, 201610 yr There's no chance any one will want to play with him after this. If I'm a free agent, I don't even consider the team he's on.

March 30, 201610 yr Author LA radio says the video was given to a third party. No one knows who is responsible for leaking it.
March 30, 201610 yr Bad bad look from D'Angelo. Not sure he recovers from the stand point of trust from this one.
March 30, 201610 yr If the Lakers offered you more money than anyone else you'd say no way because of this? They wouldn't be able to offer that much more money than anyone else that would make me want to be in the same locker room as this clown. Why would anyone even consider being his teammate at this point?
March 30, 201610 yr Author They wouldn't be able to offer that much more money than anyone else that would make me want to be in the same locker room as this clown. Why would anyone even consider being his teammate at this point? Because he's talented. If he can prove his worth on the court folks will play with him. I do think this could be harmful to their free agency the next couple of seasons. At the same time there will be plenty of people who won't be bothered by this. They just have to find them and hope they are really good. :lol2:
