Open Job: Pulaski County

Also I would take Cook over Adams every day and twice on Sunday as I'm sure Boyle fans feel the same about Adams over Cook. Adams is a good coach but I'm extremely happy with our choice.

Agreed. I will also say that I really like Coach Cook a lot. I always enjoy seeing him and talking to him when I have those opportunities. I hope he remains at Mercer County and takes the program to where it is capable of being.

Anything else of Wright being let go/Forced out at Southwestern? If this happens it sets up what will really become a circus.

Not hearing much, my Pulaski friends are open about what's been going on. My SW friends are drawn up tighter than a snare drum, won't even speak of what may or may not be going on.

If this happens and Ed McKinney decides to step down at Danville (which I hope does not happen), then Danville should give Wright a call.

Wright is an excellent Coach, no doubt about that. However, the Danville program needs someone with Danville ties and IMO there's nobody that knows these kids better than McKinney's protege - the current JV/Freshmen Coach Berry. It would come as a complete shock if he were not tapped as Danville's new Coach.

Why does the coach need Danville ties?

Loyalty/respect goes a long way around here, especially when you are trying to build a program back up. Danville has had Coaches come in with no ties and they haven't worked out - always left after a season or two. If McKinney leaves, Danville needs someone like him - someone who has deep roots with the program and who has earned the respect of the players and parents and someone who would be willing to stay for several years.

Coach Berry would be a great choice! It is the only way for Danville to move forward if McKinney steps down. No outsiders are accepted in Danville and will never get the support of the community, regardless of how hard they work or how well they do. They have had coaches stay around for more than one or two years and have success but still not accepted. Just the way it is there. Cliff Berry would be a good choice. I wonder if he is in the school system?

I'm hearing that the Pulaski County job will likely be filled shortly after the 30 day posting has expired. I think there is an expectation that the job will stay in-house but there is still a possibility that someone like Maze Stallworth will have a good shot at landing this job. I'd love to know who all puts in for this job.

I believe Coach Berry works as a Teaching Assistant in Danville Schools while he's finishing up his degree

Fitzgerald and Butt are planning on leaving. If there happens to be a change at Southwestern then they may reconsider.

I wouldn't allow kids and parents to hold my program hostage. Just my opinion.

Will they have to establish a "new" address? Crazy that its become a free-agent type thing. Where do you think they will end up? What about Gover?
