Open Job: Pulaski County

Featured Replies

How is the football program in Pulaski County? I know they've won the state tournament last year and this year they were runner-up. Would this have a bearing at all on how good of a job it is? If I was to put the 12th Region jobs in order though it would probably go like this:

1) Wayne County

2) Southwestern

3) Mercer County

4) West Jessamine

5) Lincoln County

6) Boyle County

7) East Jessamine

8) Pulaski County

Based on what? I'd rank them way differently than you have.

Same here. I think Lincoln County may be the best or second best (Wayne County) job in the region, based on youth structure, school/fan support, and being the only school in the county.

You're probably right about Lincoln being a top 3 job but I look at it from hot jobs right now. I think the 4 teams above them would be more likely to compete for a state championship in the next 5 years.

Lincoln should be atleast 2 some may argue #1. Southwestern not a great job with the way their fans are.

Along with Lincoln County at the top I'd put Boyle County and Pulaski County up there as well and throw in compensation as another factor. I heard a large amount people put in for the Pulaski County job last time it was open so that tells me it is a highly coveted job. I also know that the last time Boyle County was open there was a tremendous amount of interest in that job as well.

Wayne County and Southwestern are other jobs that I would put in the top 5 of the 12th Region when looking at the overall quality of those jobs.

After you get past the reputation of their fans I think that job would be very appealing. Great facilities, good support(when they are getting along) and I imagine they compensate fairly well.

You're looking at immediate success. We're looking at true sustained success. Not flash in the pan cyclical type situations. Competing for state championships means nothing if you can't win the region.

Mercer County couldn't lure Boyle County's current coach away from Boyle County and they tried their hardest to get Coach Adams. That's a fact. A large majority of coaches would rather coach at Boyle County than Mercer County so I have to rate the Boyle County job higher than Mercer County.

If Steve Wright stays at Southwestern then Pulaski County will be the 12th Region favorite by far next season. :D

Adams is a Mercer graduate, too!

I heard opposite about who was interested in who but it is something that could be argued until the end of time with no real proof. Only Adams and a few at Mercer would know the truth. I'm sure both parties would spin it to say one side had more interest than the other as is the case when a deal isn't worked out.

Also I would take Cook over Adams every day and twice on Sunday as I'm sure Boyle fans feel the same about Adams over Cook. Adams is a good coach but I'm extremely happy with our choice.

No argument there. I think one thing we can all agree on is that there was a mutual interest and for whatever reason a deal could never get done. I do know that everyone at Boyle County that knew of the situation expected Coach Adams to leave. To say a full court press was put on him to remain at Boyle County is an accurate statement. We are grateful he stayed.
