Former Baseball Player, Broadcaster Joe Garagiola Dies at Age 90

RIP. Interesting life story.

As a teenager - One of the better ways to spend a Summer Saturday was to watch TWIB with Mel Allen followed by game of week with Garagiola and Kubek. Those guys were the best. Always teams you wanted to watch and back in those days, TWIB was only way to get all the highlights..

R.I.P. my friend...

Ahh yes, simpler times than now. We all weren't so special and didn't take ourselves so serious. R.I.P. Joe.

Just to hear Joe and Tony again....

wow... thanks for sharing.. awesome stuff.. Those two together were best in the business.. nobody better since.. They called / analyzed a game the way it should be.. great stuff

Such a great storyteller.

Joe was a member of the 1952 Pittsburgh Pirates that went 42-112. I remember on one telecast he said "we started the season losing 11 of our first 13 games. Then we went into a slump".

I always loved listening to Joe G. RIP...

I remember an All Star game he broadcast. The Reds catcher Johnny Bench went to mound to have a pow wow with the Mets Tom Seaver.

Joe commented, "Look at that. Bench and Seaver. A franchise."

He had a way of saying things that caught one's attention.

He said the good thing about buying a Cubs ticket in Chicago back when he played was that you always got your full 9 innings.
