This is a much better match up for Mason County. Lady Royals by 6.

 

I am not trying to be fippant but how is Scott a better match-up for Mason than Bourbon? Mason beat Scott by 8 and Bourbon by almost 25 pts during the regular season. If it wasn't for those 2 missed FTs with :6.5 left in the game Mason is more than likely sitting at home this Friday night.

I'd be interested in seeing what the Lady Royals win % looks like when they shoot on their average game % from the field.

I assume that it's a small minority of the fan base, but a VERY important minority.

I guess that depends on your definition of "important"....but if I said close to the team it would be an understatment.

When it comes to state, don't count your chickens yet, they have to get out of the region first.

If it comes down to them, who would they rather play Campbell Co. Or GRC ?

If Mason continues to play at 70% of their potential, it won't matter who they play. Tournament time in the bluegrass takes no prisoners.

Agreed. I've seen this MC team over the past few years. They are talented, but I haven't seen many games in person being as I live in Jefferson County.

 

But, isn't tournament basketball all about "getting hot at the right time" and "getting a great draw" aren't those factors the same for any team put in that position besides MC?

 

It isn't the "hot streak" a team hits late season, or the "draw" of the tournament that fans talk about. It's the talent of exploiting such opportunities when they present themselves. Mason County had the opportunity to exploit those things last season, and proved they could do it.

 

Setting the bar at the final four standard this year regardless of tournament circumstance isn't too high of an expectation for them in my opinion.

 

Once again, these questions only come up because Kentucky had the greatest high school basketball tournament in the nation.

Anything can happen, but I'll take Mason simply because they are the deepest and most talented team in the tournament. They've had open shots that just haven't been falling, if the shots fall the next 2 games then they'll be playing at BB&T if they don't fall and continue to play the way they have then it'll be tough to get out of region.
