KingOfClutch33, agree with you that they are two great players. Can concur that M may be better dribble and slasher, but shooter might be arguable.

Season stats for M:

16.2 pts per game on

87/185 FGs @ 47.0%.

31/76 threes @ 40.8%.

70/80 FTs @ 87.5%.

Season stats for W:

21.6 pts per game on

200/394 FGs @ 50.8%.

41/102 threes @ 45.5%.

150/190 FTs @ 78.9%.

Hard to unquestionably declare M the superior shooter, don't you agree?

By stats, yes. But then I would offer two arguments. One that Weyer has a MUCH bigger sample size due to injury, and two the field goal percentage is slightly slanted because it doesn't take into account how many times the big fella has laid it in from within 5 feet. At the end of the day, they are both phenomenal basketball players and I hope they get to go against each other Friday. I would take a team full of either of these two guys, and wish them both best of luck.

Both are outstanding.

I'd argue Sean McNeil can get his 3-pointers easier than Ben can. Not a huge surprise since Ben is 6'7 and Sean is 6'3ish.

I'm not sure who the last knockdown big man shooter we've seen like Ben.

Let me refresh your memory

Last year NCC big man Drew McDonald poured them in at 53.3%

Jackson Crawford of Brossart came in at 46.81 % this year.

I wasn't aware of Crawford's outside game. Only saw him once and he was an inside player whose game I really like. I knew Drew was a good shooter. I guess what I'm saying is I don't recall a big whose game is more outside than inside. That's how I view Ben's game vs Drew and Crawford.

I thought Mcdonald liked hanging around the perimeter last year more than he liked to play physical. I thought him shying away and standing around the perimeter was a huge tactical mistake for NCC. He looks like a different player now that he's at NKU. He's playing much more physical. I think Weyer is far ahead of Mcdonald in terms of offense and defense. If Weyer decides he wants to dominate the paint, I think he will. Cooper is a decided underdog in this game.

I was actually thinking about that myself. I went a little further back to my time, and was thinking that the Brock kid from SK had a pretty good stroke if I remember correctly.

Weyer is the best player in the region this year and would be next year as well.

Cooper could win with Hendrix and Kunkel without Mcniel.

Cooper cannot win without Hendrix and Kunkel with Mcniel.

No team in the region can go without 2 of their top 3 and beat good teams.

Lost by 1 to Conner missing their top 2 players and their 3rd best player played most of the second half with a broken wrist.

Never count the Jags out.

Connor is not NCC.

This NCC team is supremely confident about Friday's match-up, as they should be. There is nothing this Breds' team wants more than another bite at the apple vs CovCath on Monday night in front of a huge crowd at BB&T.

I would LOVE to see this game with a healthy McNeil, Kunkel, and Hendrix -- I would hope we all feel that way. But sadly, that won't be the case, and Cooper is going to have to count on Sean, Chris, Sully, and a lot of fresh-faced Jags.

"Sully"?? I don't think he's suiting up for this one. Although, I know he's going to coach whoever is on the floor the same as he would if Cooper was at full strength. I truly believe the Jags will leave it all on the court with what they have and are always confident.

Sorry that wasn't clear, I apologize, I will be more clear. Sully is one of the reasons I give Cooper a fighting chance. He is terrific and gives them a chance.
