Saints release Marques Colston

Colston still has a couple years left in him.

Bengals could probably get him pretty cheap.

Yes they could because his best days are behind him. There is zero reason to sign him, wouldn't help at all IMO.

You'd think he could still put up some decent numbers like Boldin and be a good possession WR, but I think I'd still pass.

I think Colston was more of a product of who was throwing him the ball. Boldin is someone who has always been talented and has done well with any QB. I don't see that with Colston. He is old and slow and just wouldn't be a good fit for the Bengals IMO.

Totally agree

I will never forget Marques Colston b/c his first year in the league Yahoo had him listed as a TE and I got really good WR numbers out of my TE spot.

If the Bengals lose both Jones and Sanu in FA should the Bengals do anything at WR in FA? If so, what?

I think that guy is so out of gas it's silly. But they'll have to do something because the draft is WR poor.

No not before the draft imo. See how the draft plays out and then look at your options. More people still get cut after the draft and in the summer. There is no free agent wrs out there worth grabbing imo. As of right now Marvin Jones is the best free agent wr out there that's not franchised tag. So if we don't get him back then anything besides him is a step down anyways imo and might as well wait until the draft.

If they lose both then the Bengals have to go wr in the either the first two rounds and even if they do sign Jones back they may still need to take a look at a wr in the second round.

Slim pickins

Slim pickins

Yes and no. Will they get a future hall of famer probably not. However teams are usually able to find good WR's in later rounds who may not have high grades coming out of college. Just look at the stud WR's you all have in Pittsburgh now. So with there being no real studs that are going to be top 10 picks. The Bengals sitting at 24 could get at least one of the better WR's coming out of college this year.
