I'm happy for Meisha.

Interesting that BJ Penn is making a comeback to the UFC and asked for this fight when it came open.

He's one of my favorites all time, but I'm not sure how much he has left.

Nate Diaz your new champion

Connor big mouth McGregor taps out

It wasn't a championship fight.

WOW! Like I said before, I like both fighters. Surprised to see McGregor tap out.

Nate Diaz is a tough dude.

On two weeks of training camp Diaz makes the mouth tap out! Connor was the one making excuses after the fight talking about fighting a taller man with more reach. blah blah blah. Diaz was right when he was asked about McGregor's prediction of a 1st round knockout, "Connor doesn't believe what he was saying."

I think they should meet in the middle at 155 next time. If each has a full training camp Diaz will beat him even more easily. I think in the first round. He wasn't sharp, wasn't warmed up, didn't have his timing down so he had to wade through some stuff in the first round. When Nate found his range, McGregor started to buckle, just like he has made fun of his previous opponents. Diaz shut him up.

Funniest quote of the night was from McGregor, "I'm humble in victory and I'm humble in defeat." I don't know who he's talking about but I will say that he was humbled by a better fighter. He better stay down in 145. He can "rule" there. But move up and he will be tapping out a lot.

Stay down in 145 and Connor keeps the belt a long time. Pick and choose who he fights at 155, he can get some wins. Go in against a top guy in 155 and he loses.

I didn't hear any excuses. He took the loss like a pro. He is mouthy, but most of that is to drum up business. After he beat Aldo, his interviews were respectful and pretty calm. Diaz is a much better boxer than anyone wants to credit him as. He is the epitome of a pro in terms of staying within shouting distance of peak condition. I like both of them. Louder than I would be, both of them, but true pros.

McGregor should be thankful that dosAngos had to back out of the fight. He would have whooped his butt worse than Diaz did.

I agree with @Wildcats1. McGregor is not respectful. And yes he did make excuses for his loss. He wasn't humble after his defeat, he was humbled. There is a difference. He proclaimed himself humble in victory and humble in defeat. Give me a break.

I do give him credit for stepping into the cage at a higher weight than he can expect to carry. G=He had to to make the fight with Diaz because it would not be possible for Diaz to drop down with onlt two weeks notice.

What McGregor has accomplished in such a short time is commendable. But you have to be respectful of opponents and the sport or you bring a bad reaction on yourself. My only beef with McGregor is the way he disrespects his opponents. He thought he was the best thing since sliced bread. Turned out to be more like unleavened bread. He failed to rise to the occasion.

One of the best UFC's in a while, very entertaining!

Agreed one of the first ones I've watched all the way through for some time

Agreed. Connor knows how to sell a fight and make money. His opponents should love him, because he makes them rich.

Those of you who think Connor is the way he is to be disrespectful don't understand what he's doing.

He sells fights. He makes people want to watch them. When they matched him up vs Diaz, I knew the pre fight festivities would be as entertaining as the fight. The fight didn't disappoint either.

McGregor was winning the fight until Diaz rocked him. It was downhill from there.

My guess is fighting at 170 was harder than Connor expected.

Like Mex said, Nate is a pro when it comes to being ready to fight. He's also a pro at trash talking and he's funny as heck.

I hope they fight again one day, but McGregor needs to defend his belt first. If he wins a few at 145 again I could see him moving up to 155.
