Our guards played great but had critical turnovers in the last few minutes for easy baskets for Maddox. Like seven straight points.

Have to agree. Terrible finish!

Garrison had a heck of a game for Mason County.

I also think Dalton Perkins gave the Royals some really nice minutes in the 1st half. I kind of thought Mason County took control of the game after he was inserted. Augusta likes to attack the basket, and Perkins' presence in the paint made it tough for the Panthers to do that.

I missed the first half due to work and don't believe Perkins even got in the game the second half

10th Region basketball expert Randy Parker ranked Augusta ahead of Mason in this past weeks rankings. Bet he was second guessing himself with less than 4:00 to go in fourth and Panthers down by 13? Fear not RP, we have faith in your judgement. Thanks for getting on the caravan from the river to the region. Need to share the fun in watching these 5 guards with huge hearts!

Shoot, I was second-guessing myself from the 2nd quarter on. :lol2:

Keep in mind I also had Brossart ranked ahead of Scott, so there's that. :lol2:

Or maybe a GREAT FINISH!

Or maybe a GREAT FINISH!

Guess I should've been more clear. Horrible finish for Mason!!

Here's a video for anyone who wants to see.

I saw on Twitter that ESPN asked Mr. Dennison for permission to use his video.

I agree , Garrison and Pig had great games, thought Perkins played great in the first half. I believe his presence on defense made a big difference tonight and also Tuesday night against Bracken. Heartbreaking loss for Mason Co but have to tip my hat to Augusta on fighting to the end and winning a hard fought game.

Garrison, Perkins, and Dunaway are all sophomores, I believe. Lofton starts and is a freshman. Some talent there with those youngsters.

Pig did a really good job on Connor Maddox for most of the game, but tip of the hat to Maddox for persevering. Scored 12 of his 20 points in the 4th quarter. He's one of the most clutch players in the 10th Region.

Yes Perkins played great tonight, his presence in the lane makes it difficult for teams to drive. He along with garrison definitely sparked the Royals tonight. Perkins also played good minutes against Bracken . Royals made a good run when he was in that night as well. Hated that they lost but Augusta is a gritty team that never quit, great game to watch.
