Of the district tournament financial records that the 39th has sent in to the KHSAA site..the largest paid attendance under the current alignment (MC, BC, AHS, and SP) was somewhere in the neighborhood of 1800-1900 tickets sold for the 2013 district final doubleheader at the Fieldhouse (girls was Bracken-Mason, boys was Bracken-Augusta). Now, I know that doesn't include the pass list attendees, and I remember people talking about how close to capacity that was at the Fieldhouse was that night...but that's what the folks who ran the tournament reported.

You can't beat the atmosphere that was at Bracken Co high school last night. It was electric.

I believe Randy Parker introduced us at the Murph Classic. Or maybe that was a polar bear of another variety.:idunno: Told you I was old!

You are correct I had to jog the memory bank but I do remember now.

Many of us utilize the defense mechanism of repressing memories of Randy Parker meetings to get us through the day. I hope and pray that the flashback was relatively painless.

When I was in high school they hosted the girls district at Augutsa. And you though having it in Brooksville was nightmare

Was always told that it was handled well.

It was...the atmosphere was great. And, with the smaller capacity, it was nearly packed every game.

Financial Report: 2006-2014

Mason County is bolded

First number is ticket, followed by Net Profit

2006- 1,999 $8,329

2007- 2,680 $11,084

2008- 2,275 $9,365

2009- 3,023 $12,576

2010- 2,175 $10,662

2011- 2,772 $14,092

2012- MISSING

2013- 3,838 $20,243

2014- 3,095 $15,899

2013 was Augusta/Mason and Bracken/Augusta which made a lot of money, 2014 was the same

If finals were on different nights more money would be made

I still think the atmosphere is better at Bracken

2005 38th at Bracken was probably huge and I bet this year was a lot

Host school keeps 15% of net profit

This sounds like a similar situation with the 62nd district being held at Elliott county this year. The Elliott vs Morgan game, fans were line up an hour before the door were suppose to open. That gym was full within the first 5 minutes of the doors opening. The only other way to watch the game was watching from the PAC down the hall.

No way I pay to watch a high school game on tv.

That has NEVER happened at Bracken County.
