Was the district tournament ever held at the Maysville Bulldogs gym at any time?

Talk about a parking (and seating) nightmare.

Am assuming then that there was never a district tournament there before or after the The Fieldhouse. I thought there might have been at one time or another

This is crazy, most people are not even home from work yet, have it at Mason every year BC is just not set up to handle this nor are the other 2 schools. Mason has the sets and the parking people don't have to rush and stand in line for 2 hours for a seat,

Excuse my rant but this is a frustrated HS basketball fan. I will never understand why the schools would not want to have the district tournament in a gym large enough to allow EVERYONE that wants to see their team play ! I will agree that Bracken Co has done a good job with the facilities that they have, small gym, little parking , limited bathroom facilities. I just do not understand why its not held at the biggest gym in the district every year, the schools all share the gate money so more attendance equals more money per school. As far as home court advantage, I would argue that when you bring your cheerleaders, your band and your cheering section that home court is a mute point. Last time I checked the court was the same size and the rims are the same height . Got that from Hoosiers ! But I honestly feel like attendance would be better, less frustration and more money per school. Should be a no brainer, as far as the concessions go: let the schools rotate every year who does them and that school keeps the money , I guess bottom line is bring the pork tenderloin and the bar-b-q to the fieldhouse and almost everyone will be happy ! My suggestion for the host next year : St. Pat ( no offense ), why not, gym is pretty nice and they could simulcast it to the old Maysville gym, if you leave the doors open you might even be able to hear the crowd at the St. Pat gym! Gym probably holds 5 or 6 HUNDRED people ! They could park in Aberdeen or at the boat dock and shuttle bus everyone in. It would be so great ! Sounds ridiculous to have it there doesn't it ? Sort of like having it at Bracken Co ( seats maybe 1800) instead of the Fieldhouse that seats what 5 THOUSAND or more ! Crazy to me, but I guess common sense isn't so common anymore !

Get over it. It's more fun at Bracken County. If you don't like it don't go.

I would not go as far as saying "more fun" fun to me is grabbing a nice dinner before the game with no rush and a place to park, and as for "don't go" well there are plenty of folks not going because of the parking arrangements, WFTM and Augusta webcast should have plenty of listeners tonight,

It is what it is.

This could rival Hilary's appearance at The Fieldhouse.:smug:

You obviously never played high school ball. Another mad mason fan for not getting to play at Fieldhouse. BTW St Pat has a nice gym and their floor is a lot better than the Fieldhouse floor(it has dead spots in it)

Well I guess I must respond to this one, ok first of all if you read what I said , I stated that St Pat had a nice gym, I was in no way putting it down, second, I don't care if it's played at the fieldhouse or not, I said it should be played at the largest gym in the district regardless of where it's at . I think , as I said in my first post, Bracken Co did a good job with what they have to work with. Tonight was a great game, no matter where it was played. Just think it would be nice to not set like sardines and have to park and ride a bus. It is what it is but I guarantee more people come see that game if it's at the bigger gym. Just my opinion. Lastly I did play high school ball and as a matter of fact went on to play college ball as well. How about you ?

The parking problems were handled as well as their limited facilities allow. Bathrooms are what they are. Concessions were best they could do. BUT, not opening the doors when five hundred people were freezing to death with the unexpected blizzard winds was downright ABUSIVE. Was the Tournament manager inflexible in making last minute health decisions? Wisdom did not prevail.

It doesn't matter to me if they moved it to a bigger gym that was a neutral floor.. But there is no excuse for fans having to line up an hour before a game in the freezing cold, or having to park a mile away. Especially when there are plenty of larger gyms close by
