Mason County 49 Bracken County 43 (39th District Semifinals)

Pig Williams led Mason County with 17 points & Conner Sweeney had 16.

Austin Crawford finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds for Bracken County. Jarred Lippert added 13 points.

Story of this game was Mason's defense focused on stopping Crawford's penetration. Pig manned-up all night and was assisted by teammates that sagged weakside into the paint to cut off his spinning cutbacks. Mason beat BC back consistently creating a halfcourt game that favored their defense. Mason committed a high number of fouls but BC hit barely 50% with missed FTs greatly exceeding the margin of victory.

This was a Brossart type game that was not nailed down by Mason until less than two to go. Great effort by the Polar Bears and a victory earned by the Royals.

Only got to see about a quarter and a half, but I thought Hinson's game plan was a good one. Polar Bears were very methodical on the offensive end.

Also thought Pig defended Crawford pretty well. Austin still had a pretty good night, but Pig really made him work.

Free throws obviously killed Bracken County, but kudos to the Royals for capitalizing to get the win.

Thursday night should be a dandy.

Doubt anyone will beat Bracken in the District next year. St Pat might be the second favorite.

Pig held Austin to 7/20 shooting from the field, he took this game over on the defensive end. Great fight shown by the Royals

Let it not be lost in this thread that Bracken with the loss ends the career's of seniors Jarrod Lippert, Kolton Williams, and John Bravard. Three great young men that will be missed on the polar bear roster next season.

Thought it was a great game other than some tastless Royal fans in their pep section. I thought Crawford faired well against Pig and he beat him on the dribble but got doubled when he got anywhere close to the 3 point line.

First time I'd seen Mason but the big tall boy(can't remember his number, 31 maybe), has to be pushing 6'8, looks like a good college prospect if he's still young and the lofton boy has some talent but foul trouble got him. Other than that I have to say Crawford going to get some nice offers next year

Thanks PB98,

always tough when its over and you have been a part of a players practices(coaching, shooting hundreds and hundreds of shots, etc.) since first grade Boys Club. It's funny how I can't remember certain things that happened yesterday, but can vividly remember games, practices, practically everything related to what they did from first grade on. Keep up the good work at BCHS

I guess you've never seen Cov Cath Pep Section?

I didn't think our student body was bad at all :ohbrother: If they couldn't take our students, I'd hate to see what they'd do at cov cath

I enjoyed the pep section and thought a few signs were hilarious before O'hearn took them... Let the kids have fun. And this is coming from a BRACKEN fan.

What about the job Biggs has done at MC this year? Where are those fans that wanted him gone?

THANK YOU! It really means a lot, I didn't think we went to far or anything by any means.. What do people want? For kids to just sit in their seats and not say anything the entire game?
