Also on the topics of the Bengals WRs, anyone interested in a trade with Cleveland for Josh Gordon?

Not a chance. However, would Marvin pay him if we lose our two guys to Cleveland?

We need more crazy to go with Tez and Pac.

For argument's sake, 10 million total per year.

I'd say Jeffrey will get very close to that or more.

Aren't the two easiest positions to play WR and RB. Run a route tree, block on a sweep and try not to hold too much in front of the side judge.

Reality is the ball is going to Green/Eifert and then the backs anyway. Draft a replacement for Green if you must but no way you spend a high pick on a WR to replace Jones/Sanu. You should spend your early picks on CB/Safety.

As tempting as it would be to have AJ on one side and Gordon on the other and Eifert at TE, I don't think I could trust Gordon enough...

That is the thing depending on the Bengals keep and lose in free agency. If they do lose both wrs, they can afford to spend a top pick on a wr. This is not the old Bengals where there is so many other glaring needs.

Also I think you under value how much a good wr makes a difference. There is a reason why two years ago Dalton looked horrible when the Bengals did have injuries at wr, it was because guys couldn't get open.

The only time a team can afford to not have very good wrs is when you have an elite qb who can throw people open. Dalton this year had an elite year, but is not an elite qb unless he has very talented guys around him to throw the ball to.

The only receiver better than Jones that is a FA is Ashton Jefferies IMO. He will try and get #1 $$. Bengals won't do that or have shown a history of not. Maybe they think Wright or Mario Alford are ready. Wright showed good improvement his rookie year. I doubt either are at the level they want. They might think they will be with work and PT.

Wright rarely played as a rookie but had two decent games at a number 4 wr before he got hurt. He has has the microfracture surgery on his knee, so I doubt they expect much from him next year. As for Alford I think they like him and feel like he would be a good replacement in the slot if they lose Sanu. Which is why I don't think the Bengals attention is even on Sanu. Jones is the guy they want back and can't replace him with anyone on the current roster.

So depending on the Jones situation will determine if they go wr in round one or not imo.

Hue Jackson would love to have two of his former WRs in Cleveland. Ray Farmer is no longer the GM, WRs were an after thought for him. With Hue, I believe Cleveland will try hard to get at least one of those two Bengals, if not both, though that is quite a lot to expect.

If Gordon gets healthy (that is off drugs) and can approximate his past prowess, can you imagine trying to defend against Gordon, Jones, and Sanu? (Yes, I guess you Bengals had that last year). Josh McCown or one of the top college guys will look good throwing to them. We also have travis Benjamin and ex-Bengal Hawkins, plus a back similar to Gio Bernard in Duke Johnson...

I have to thank my wife for slapping me just now. I almost went crazy there for a moment... we're talking Cleveland. Can't have that much good happen all at once.

WR's are crazy by nature. If you want to win, be careful about taking the $ and signing anywhere. There are very few opportunities to make $, be productive and win games. Those types of teams don't typically throw $ at FA's.
