Effort by both teams in this game was outstanding, although execution wasn't terrific. Very sloppy game in many ways.

 

I honestly felt like Brossart outplayed Scott, but the Eagles gave the Mustangs fits with their defensive pressure. And kudos to Carr's kids for getting things done while Ohmer was saddled with foul problems all night.

 

Jackson Crawford played really well and had his way in the paint. And I thought Vinnie Duimlao had a very good game for the Eagles. He has improved a great deal.

What's your point. Scott 21/27 (78%) and Brossart 13/18 (73%) - Not totally horrible for two high school teams in a high-pressure contest.

 

The two bonus front ends missed tonight by Brossart in overtime had the possessions salvaged by great work by Senior David Kelley. Kelley himself got fouled on a stickback/layup attempt and hit one of two.

Free throws are variables - sometimes you hit them and sometimes you don't.

Jake Ohmer is an 89% free-throw shooter, but even he missed a few down the stretch.

And on the next play, he saved a possible Brossart basket by getting a steal and saved it before going out of bounds, leading to a Perrin layup at the other end to give Scott the lead.

 

I also neglected to mention how well Joey Hickman played. Young man is tenacious. Missed a couple of FT's down the stretch, but he played a quality game.

I would guess 2,000, but don't know as a fact. Just know he has been a three year starter. Would think 2,500 might be a tad high and 1,500 low.

Brossart and Holy Cross are FANTASTIC home teams, but both are beatable on the road.
