I'm not sure Paris has the discipline to win the 10th, they sorta proved that to me in the All-A (not taking anything away from BB) but I'm just not sure they can keep their heads in it for 3 straight games at that level.

 

It all should come down to Montgomery, Campbell and Mason. If Mason gets past Bracken and doesn't get an awful draw at Region then I can see them making it to the championship game even with their inexperience I feel like the guards and Sweeney will carry them there.

Montgomery and Campbell are the front runners IMO, they're both talented, disciplined, and experienced which is key come tournament time. The thing that knocks Brossart down for me would be experience and the fact that taking the air out of the ball doesn't exactly work that well come March.

 

At the end of the day the draw will be critical this year.

These aren't if's these are facts...Paris has lost 4 games...Scott Co... Football players first game....Madison Central up 15-4 then started doin things that were bonkers...Bishop Brossart w very suspect calls and Koebe Garrard being saddled w foul trouble and still had chance to tie w 5 secs...Mason Co again no Koebe Garrard. Can you guys realize how valuable Koebe Garrard is...I mean no recognition for player of they year? He's the best player in region hands down!! You guys may give your reasons for why he's not mentioned and I'll tell you again in between those lines no one can stop him but HIM. Paris is the best team in the region...If we beat Clark we will have swept the district.. UK had the best team and didn't win it..poop happens...These aren't your same ole hounds and it's got some people's boxers in a bunch. Oh by the way...I always sit on the opposing teams front row y cuz I show my kids that I'mma b in the hostile environment w them...so I choose to sit on the other teams side and help them during the game ...Moco old lady told me to get on your own side...perfect example of how we have rubbed folk the wrong way...I politely told her these aren't the days you grew up in so I'm allowed to sit where I please...greyhounds coming to an arena near you.

We have certainly picked up that reputation. The PCRadio guys were critical of us Thursday night in the Pendleton County game, when up 12-15 late in the game, we went into layup/free-throw mode since we were in the double-bonus, and ran some time off the clock in doing so. They even went so far as to say that we were the poster child for the reason to install a shot-clock into high school basketball. They are entitled to their opinion, and again I'm sorry that they (and others) don't like our style of winning. We put up 20 points in the first quarter, and double-figures in each ensuing period. We had a guy score 31 and the team put up 62 points, yet we are criticized for "taking the air out of the ball."

 

Is this taking the air out of the ball, or simply playing smart???

 

To appease the masses we could come down and chuck up threes, which we often see happen, when other teams are in this situation, but this just opens a window of opportunity for your opponent to rebound and close the gap. Murray, as much as I respect them, left us back into our "A" State game with them, by doing just that and we thanked them very much.

 

Most on here are nominating Mike Code as COY, and he was referred to as the "turtle-necked mastermind," yet nobody likes our style of play/winning.

We have seen in recent years that anyone can be beat in Districts or even first round of Region. Honestly, there is no favourite, although, I can give you 5 teams I think have a good chance:

 

MoCo

Campbell

Mason

Augusta

Bracken

 

Now I know I am out ruling Pendleton, Paris and Broassart, but most of those teams (3/4) have to make it out of Districts. Bracken looks good, Mason looks tough if everyone is on their game, and Augusta just coming off a small win over Brossart, ANYTHING can happen. Who knows!

Code gets criticized for playing smart, control the game and not chuck up threes. Belcher gets criticized for playing a speed game and chucking up threes. Sounds like, if you want to be critical of a coach you can pick from the menu and build your argument that sounds good. Maybe parents and fans could work a little harder to contribute to their programs by expressing appreciation for a bunch of good men that have chosen to contribute positively to the younger generation.

Brossart did beat Pendleton.

 

Bracken beat Brossart and I consider them to be a team that wants to run and get Austin Crawford in transition and ahead of the defense as much as possible. Or the one game I watched them that's how it appeared.

I thought it was one of the most uptempo games I have ever seen BB play. As for killing some clock late in the game, that's just smart basketball.
